Descrição da oferta de emprego

At Johnson Controls, we help customers bring HVAC equipment from project handoff to startup, warranty, and ongoing service support. This Houston-based role sits at the center of Equipment North America (EqNA) work, coordinating field service, customer communication, and service readiness across sales, operations, and the branch team.

Role Overview

As the HVAC Equipment Commissioning Manager, you will serve as the main coordination point for equipment startup and warranty activity. You will work closely with the customer, Customer Resource Coordinators (CRCs), Systems Application Engineers (SAEs), Branch Operations Managers (BOMs), Truck Based Service Managers (TBSMs), and technicians to keep service scopes aligned, documentation accurate, and work completed on time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support EqNA startup, warranty, and other service needs from project turnover through completion.
  • Act as the single point of contact for service-scope coordination within the equipment contract and the direct interface with the EqNA customer.
  • Partner with EqNA sales during estimating to help determine whether work can be handled as S/R or requires a Service Mechanical project.
  • Prepare custom quotes for service items outside of Program, Commission, Adjust, and Train (PCAT) policy.
  • Confirm technician readiness and training needs when contract and warranty expectations are finalized.
  • Attend RTO meetings on complex projects or Planned Service Agreement (PSA) projects and flag service or warranty scope concerns.
  • Validate PSA details with the SAE/Agent Project Owner and provide supporting submittal documentation as needed.
  • Lead weekly service turnover meetings with SAEs and the Branch Operations Manager to track current and future service scopes for EqNA business.
  • Coordinate directly with the customer on scheduled work, changes, delivery expectations, and startup timing.
  • Verify asset records in NxGen, warranty status in Warranty Navigator, and startup dates for equipment started by service.
  • Promote use of Pronto Forms for pre-startup checklists, startup, unit inspections, and warranty work.
  • Ensure startup work is completed, resolve barriers to completion, and deliver startup documentation and warranty certification to the customer.
  • Support prompt invoicing of service requests and elevate issues that may delay warranty work, parts availability, or cash collection.
  • Provide technical support for EqNA customers as needed and help resolve service questions in coordination with internal teams.

How You Will Do It
  • Own outcomes with accountability, safety, and integrity. Keep commitments visible, follow through on open items, and elevate risks early so startup and warranty work stay on track.
  • Stay close to the work and the customer. Work directly with customers, CRCs, SAEs, BOMs, TBSMs, and technicians to remove obstacles and keep schedules, records, and scope details aligned.
  • Use candor and disciplined problem-solving to improve every day. Resolve discrepancies quickly in NxGen, Warranty Navigator, or warranty documentation, and drive issues to closure instead of letting them linger.
  • Win as one team. Build trust across sales, service, and field operations by sharing clear updates, listening to different perspectives, and coordinating handoffs with consistency.
  • Keep communication practical and timely so field teams know what is expected and customers know what is happening next.

Qualifications
  • 10 or more years of industry experience, or a Technical Engineering or Construction degree.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook, plus Adobe Writer and a basic Windows operating system environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.
  • Good conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to represent Johnson Controls positively and communicate with people at varying technical levels.
  • Ability to manage a large and diverse number of projects with professionalism, cooperation, and persistence.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Nice to Have
  • BA degree in Engineering or Construction.
  • HVAC equipment knowledge.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
