Job summary

The Westin at Frenchman’s Reef in St. Thomas is seeking an experienced HVAC Engineer to join our engineering team. Lead your maintenance crew, oversee preventive maintenance, and ensure the reliable operation of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

You will collaborate with the Director of Engineering, coordinate with contractors, and maintain accurate maintenance records while promoting a safe, high-standard work environment in a luxury resort setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance, preferably in hospitality.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Proven leadership and ability to manage a team.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
• Technical certifications or licenses are a plus.
• Proficiency with maintenance management software desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the maintenance team, assigning tasks and providing guidance
• Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal functionality of equipment and facilities
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and address issues efficiently
• Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other systems
• Coordinate with external contractors for major repairs and renovations
• Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment, ensuring availability when needed
• Adhere to safety and regulatory standards, promoting a safe working environment
• Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and prepare reports as required
