Job summary

Dayton Phoenix Group in Dayton, Ohio is seeking an HVAC Assembly & Test technician responsible for assembling and inspecting HVAC assemblies and subassemblies, including plumbing, wiring, refrigerant charging, testing and packing.

Responsibilities require reading assembly prints, basic math, and hands-on troubleshooting of HVAC systems; EPA 608 certification is required or can be pursued during onboarding, with a 30-day window to obtain it.

Qualifications

• EPA 608 Refrigerant Handling Certification is required (Type II or Universal).
• Must pass AWS B2.2 certification within 90 days (limit 2 attempts).
• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, angles, and fractions.
• Training and/or experience in troubleshooting and repairing HVAC systems.
• Ability to read and use assembly prints and work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and inspect HVAC units and subassemblies, including plumbing and wiring.
• Charge refrigerants and perform functional tests, then pack units.
• Adhere to prints, procedures, and quality standards.
• Work collaboratively in a team to meet routed production rates.

The position of HVAC Assembly & Test will be responsible for the assembly and inspection of various HVAC assemblies and subassemblies. Responsibilities include plumbing, wiring, refrigerant charging of units, testing and packing.

Essential qualifications for this position include:

• Must possess EPA 608 Refrigerant Handling Certification (Type II or Universal)

    • A passing test and required certification must be obtained within 30 days of the acceptance of this position
• Must be able to pass AWS B2.2 certification test within 90 days (Limit 2 attempts)
• Must have basic math skills – adding/subtracting/angles/fractions/etc.
• Training and/or experience in the troubleshooting & repair of HVAC systems
• Must comprehend and use assembly prints/work instructions
