Provide classroom and laboratory instruction to students to prepare them for employment or further education in the HVAC/Electric field. Establish and communicate clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects. Provide opportunities to students to earn various industry credentials. Encourage students to explore learning opportunities, both inside the classroom and in industry. Evaluate student performance, work cooperatively with parents, school personnel, and the business community to maintain a program which meets Ohio Department of Education and industry standards. Serve as SkillsUSA advisor.
A valid Ohio Career-Technical Teaching Certificate for Heating, Air Conditioning, Heating, and Electrical Trades, or a high school diploma with at least five years of industry experience in the HVAC/Electric field.
Effective organizational, planning, and project management skills. Ability to identify, evaluate, and implement program options and curricular materials that support the diverse learning needs of students. Experience in HVAC and electric. Prior experience with a career technical student organization.
