Daikin Applied is hiring a full-time Controls Technician I - Installation to install and service commercial building digital control systems. The role focuses on wiring sensors, direct digital controls, and ensure proper installation of conduit and components.

Training and career growth opportunities are provided within a leading HVAC innovator. The position is onsite in Alabama (Huntsville, Birmingham, or Montgomery) with opportunities to work across multiple BAS platforms and Daikin-branded

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent
• Technical training with 0–2 years of related experience preferred
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• No visa sponsorship available for this position
• Willingness to participate in rotational emergency call support

Responsibilities

• Provide responsive and professional customer service to build lasting relationships
• Install wiring and sensors for direct digital control systems
• Ensure conduit, wiring, and sensors are installed correctly
• Troubleshoot issues to ensure proper functioning of wires/sensors
• Maintain records for billing, inventory, timecards, and reports
• Report progress to customers with status updates
• Participate in training and obtain required certifications
• Maintain clean and safe work area and follow safety policies

Daikin Applied is seeking a full-time Controls Technician I - Installation. In this role, you will be responsible for installation of commercial building digital control systems. These responsibilities will increase based on exposure to tasks, ability to develop troubleshooting skill set, and consistent and accurate completion of assignments. The Building Automation Systems (BAS) you will be installing and servicing includes but is not limited to Daikin branded controls or third‑party controls system. Location:

Huntsville, Birmingham, or Montgomery, AL. - Onsite

What you will do:

• Provide responsive and professional customer service with the goal of building and maintaining long‑term customer relationships
• Install wiring and sensors for direct digital control systems
• Ensure that conduit, wiring, and sensors are installed correctly
• Troubleshoot any issues that would prevent proper functioning of wires or sensors
• Record and report billing, inventory, timecards, technician tip reports, and other articles as required and in a timely manner
• Interact with customers by offering status reports
• Participate in available training through regional technician trainers, off‑site learning modules, and Daikin Learning. Maintain all required certifications and continue to develop new skill sets
• Ensure standards, policies, procedures, and maintenance of a clean work area are always upheld
• Follow all OSHA and Daikin Applied safety policies and procedures

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Technical training and 0-2 years of equivalent combination of education and experience
• Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record
• Rotational Emergency Call Support as required
• Required license(s) and/or training card as required by local law district
• Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in BAS, HVAC, or related industry
• Proficiency with test instruments and calibration tools
• Ability to read low voltage wiring diagrams and controls flow diagrams
• Strong computer skills
• OSHA 10 within 90 days of hire (Daikin provides this training during onboarding process)
• Current first aid / CPR card

The typical hourly pay rate for this position ranges from $27.60 - $44.29 in Alabama. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
