Job summary

Qualifications

• Must be licensed as a Mechanical contractor and obtain inspector’s certification within 1 year of hire.
• Valid driver’s license required to operate on site visits.
• Thorough knowledge of standard HVAC systems and installation practices.

Responsibilities

• Inspect new and replacement HVAC installations.
• Supervise licensing of mechanical contractors.
• Supervise issuing of mechanical permits.
• Retain files of inspections and licensing.
• Condemn and order correction of unsafe installations or equipment; administer the city ordinance.
