Job summary

Polk Mechanical is seeking an experienced HVAC technician focusing on chiller systems to diagnose, repair, maintain, and upgrade equipment across the DFW area.

The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of HVAC service experience with water- and air-cooled chillers, strong diagnostic skills, and willingness to travel to customer locations within Dallas. We offer paid benefits and opportunities for career growth.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, maintain, and upgrade HVAC equipment.
• Troubleshoot air- and water-cooled systems, including hydronic pumps.
• Maintain cooling towers and evaporative condensers.
• Coordinate with the team and dispatch service calls as needed.
• Ensure proper documentation and safety compliance daily.

POSITION SUMMARY

At Polk Mechanical, you'll be the backbone of our HVAC services, specializing in chiller systems. You'll use your expertise to diagnose, repair, maintain, and upgrade a variety of HVAC equipment. This isn't just about fixing things; it's about being a problem-solver, a skilled technician, and a crucial link in ensuring our customers' comfort and operational efficiency.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Be a Troubleshooting Master: Identify and resolve technical problems with precision, ensuring all failed components are identified and addressed.
• Work with Diverse Systems: Apply your knowledge of both air- and water-cooled HVAC equipment, including VFDs and various types of starters.
• Conquer Hydronic Challenges: Troubleshoot hydronic systems, including system pumps and water balance issues.
• Maintain Cooling Towers: Effectively troubleshoot cooling towers and evaporative condensers.
• Navigate Microprocessors: Utilize your general working knowledge of York, Trane, and Carrier microprocessors.
• Support the Team: Be a team player, assisting with dispatch service calls when customer demand is high.
• Communicate Professionally: Interact clearly and respectfully with customers and internal office personnel.
• Manage Your Work: Ensure all paperwork is completed accurately and submitted daily.
• Work Independently: Set and meet your own goals, taking ownership and a sense of urgency with every task.
• Travel as Needed: Be willing and able to travel to customer locations within the greater Dallas area.
• Prioritize Safety: Abide by all safety rules and regulations, including courteous and defensive driving.
• Maintain Flexibility: Be adaptable to a flexible work schedule.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

• 8+ years of extensive experience providing professional services in the HVAC industry, specifically working with water-cooled and air-cooled chillers.
