Job summary

City of San Juan, Texas is seeking an HVAC Systems Technician to perform preventive maintenance and general repairs on air-conditioning and heating systems at all city facilities. Qualifications

• Requires a High School Diploma or GED with preferably two years in trade school or community college. Valid Texas Driver’s license. Some knowledge in air conditioning and heating systems and minor electrical operations.

Responsibilities

• Performs regular preventative maintenance on various types of air-conditioning units.
• Replaces belts, filters, motors, etc.
• Maintain job work order logs.
• Estimates costs of repair projects in terms of labor and material.
• Determine which maintenance tasks the City may perform and which tasks must be performed by outside contractors.
• Maintains, accounts for and secures supplies and equipment in a proper manner.
• Develops and maintains inventory and maintenance log of all city HVAC units.
• Maintains assigned City owned tools and equipment.
• Performs work such general maintenance and cleaning, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, masonry, renovations and remodeling.
• Must be able to work effectively under pressure and stringent schedules and produce accurate and satisfactory results.
• Must be able to communicate effectively, at all levels, both orally and writing.
• Assist in the general maintenance and repairs, and basic renovations of buildings.
• Builds and maintains rapport and good working relations with other departments and employees throughout the City.
• Other duties as assigned.
