Job summary

Freedom is seeking an HV/LV Electrical Manager to lead high- and low-voltage operations from Wakefield. You will oversee installation, maintenance and commissioning, manage projects for safety, schedule, and budget, and support commercial activities including estimations and bids.

You will mentor operations teams, build client and supplier relationships, and drive continuous improvement using modern digital tools while ensuring HSQE compliance and a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience leading HV/LV electrical operations in utilities, construction, or industrial settings.
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Solid stakeholder management and customer-facing skills.
  • Sound understanding of Health & Safety standards and electrical regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead HV/LV electrical operations including installation, maintenance and commissioning.
  • Manage projects to deliver on time, within budget and safely.
  • Support estimation, tender prep and bid submissions for commercial work.
  • Ensure HSQE compliance across all activities and sites.
  • Provide leadership, mentoring and development to operational teams.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Oversee planning, resource allocation and budget controls.
  • Develop and implement best practice processes and procedures.
  • Leverage digital tools to improve efficiency and outcomes.

Are you ready to take the lead in high voltage and low voltage electrical operations? Your Role and Responsibilities

In this key leadership position, you will:

  • Lead and coordinate HV/LV electrical operations, including installation, maintenance, and commissioning activities.
  • Manage project delivery to ensure works are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Support commercial activities, including estimation, tender preparation, and bid submissions.
  • Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (HSQE) standards and procedures.
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and development to operational teams, driving high performance.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and stakeholders.
  • Oversee planning and resource allocation, including labor, plant, and materials.
  • Develop and implement best practice processes and operational procedures.
  • Utilize modern technology and systems to improve efficiency and performance.
  • Drive a strong safety culture and ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements.

What We’re Looking For

Essential Qualifications:

  • Proven experience managing HV and LV electrical operations within utilities, construction, or industrial environments.
  • Strong commercial awareness, including estimation and bid preparation.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills.
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety requirements and electrical standards.
  • Customer-focused approach with strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Relevant electrical engineering qualifications (HNC/HND, Degree, or equivalent).

Desirable Qualifications:

  • AP or SAP authorization for HV/LV systems.
  • Experience working with modern digital tools and operational systems.
  • Experience delivering projects within regulated environments or for major utility clients.
