Job summary

Bass Pro Shops is seeking a Sales Outfitter to provide counter sales and customer service for hunting/archery merchandise (non-firearms).

You will greet customers, assess needs, recommend products, and demonstrate items while promoting club memberships and in-store pickup. Maintain a well-stocked, organized gun counter area and stay current with product knowledge.

Qualifications

• Customer service and sales experience in hunting/archery non-firearms.
• GCA knowledge or equivalent safety awareness.
• Ability to merchandise and stock merchandise.

Responsibilities

• Greet and acknowledge customers promptly with a friendly demeanor.
• Identify and evaluate customers' needs to suggest appropriate products.
• Make product recommendations based on customer analysis.
• Promote programs including club membership, VOC, and in-store pickup.
• Demonstrate product usage to customers when needed.
• Organize and maintain merchandise within the gun counter area (non-firearms).
• Replenish product on shelves and maintain pricing/signing accuracy.
• Stay current on product knowledge through ongoing training.
• Follow all company policies and procedures and assist with other duties.

Position Summary

The Sales Outfitter provides counter sales and customer service for Hunting/Archery Merchandise non-firearms. This position provides customer service and sales of floor hunting/archery merchandise. The employee greets and acknowledges all customers promptly and friendly, handles merchandise with care, provides information, assistance, and direction to customers.

Essential Functions

• Supports a strong commitment to world-class customer service and ensures a pleasant and productive shopping experience for all customers. Provides a legendary experience for every customer, every time.
• Identifying and evaluating customers' needs.
• Making product recommendations based on this analysis.
• Promoting programs including club membership, VOC and in-store pick-up.
• Obtains ability to demonstrate product to customers.
• Organizes and maintains merchandise within the retail store for sales at gun counter non-firearms.
• Replenishes product on shelves per merchandising guidelines.
• Remains a product expert through ongoing product-knowledge training.
• Remains knowledgeable of advertised sales; maintains pricing and signing.
• Assists with seasonal floor merchandise moves.
• Keeps work area clean, neat and well stocked with supplies.
• Follows all company policies and procedures.
• Completes all other duties as assigned.

Experience / Qualifications

• Minimum degree required: high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: 0-2 years in retail.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Knowledge, Skills, and Ability

• Customer service and sales of hunting/archery merchandise (non-firearms).
• GCA.
• Ability to merchandise and stock merchandise.

• Constantly stand and/or walk during shift.
• Occasionally ascend or descend ladders, stairs, ramps, etc.
• Constantly communicate with others to exchange information.
• Occasionally repeat motions that may include wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
• Occasionally operate machinery and/or power tools.
• Occasionally operate motor vehicles or heavy equipment.
• Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds constantly, may occasionally move and lift objects up to 100 pounds or more (using a team lift as needed).
• Occasionally work in tight and confined spaces.
• Occasionally work in noisy environments.

Independent Judgment

• Performs tasks and duties under general supervision, using established procedures and innovation. Chooses from limited alternatives to resolve problems. Occasional independent judgment is required to complete work assignments. Often makes recommendations to work procedures, policies, and practices.
