Job summary

BYU Pathway is seeking a Language Evaluator in Provo, UT to assess missionaries' language abilities and support applicant placement. This entry-level role supports the Training Department and involves evaluating proficiency, providing ratings to the Language Evaluation Supervisor, and helping with trainings.

The position is part-time and on-site, offering an opportunity to contribute to accurate language assessment and to uphold confidentiality and professional standards within The Church.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in speaking a second language.
• Advanced High or Superior language proficiency level in target language.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent with public relations and communication skills.
• Able to prioritize and organize work.
• Confidential handling of sensitive information.
• Physical ability for long sitting and screen use.

Responsibilities

• Assess language abilities of missionaries and teacher applicants.
• Report language ratings to the Language Evaluation Supervisor.
• Participate in regular individual trainings to improve evaluation accuracy.
• Participate in group trainings to improve interrater reliability.
• Support a harmonious and trustworthy department environment.
• Perform secretarial and clerical tasks as needed.
• May role-play as a non-member interested in learning about the Church.
• May take on other temporary duties at the MTC.
