Cumberland County is seeking a qualified professional to identify and engage substance use, mental health, and criminal justice partners to strengthen collaboration and improve outcomes for individuals in the system. The role involves crisis intervention training, system improvements along the SIM, and data-driven program evaluation.

This role is responsible for identifying and connecting with substance use, mental health, and criminal justice partners in Cumberland County to build strong collaborative relationships. It also facilitates community-based solutions to improve outcomes and engagement for individuals with substance use or mental health disorders who are involved with the criminal justice system. This includes supporting diversion opportunities across the Sequential Intercept Mode - from pre-booking to incarceration and post- release. This position further focuses on strengthening system engagement with key partners and stakeholders.
Duties for this position included, but are not limited to:
Employee is subject to be called upon anytime to help the agency respond to a public health emergency which may include, but is not limited to, outbreak investigations, staffing mass dispensing or immunization clinics, providing disaster relief, or other incidents (man-made or natural and intentional or non-intentional) as they arise, or any public health response requested by the Health Director.
Master's degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of counseling/therapy experience in areas such as rehabilitation counseling, pastoral counseling, marriage and family therapy, child life program, or related human services field that provides the experience in techniques of counseling and therapeutic assessments, one of which must have been supervised; or, bachelor's degree in a human service field from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of related human service counseling or therapy experience which provides the above experience, one of which must have been supervised; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Degrees must be received from appropriately accredited universities.
Applicants who have obtained their education outside of the U.S. and its territories must have their academic degrees validated as equivalent to the degree conferred by a regionally accredited college or university in the U.S. The National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) is a referral resource for applicants who need to have their credentials certified as equivalent.
