The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) will partner with the Director of Human Resources and with leaders and employees across the business to ensure that human resource policies and programs are aligned with and support BlueLinx’s overall HR and talent strategies.

Additionally, the HRBP will administer core human resources policies, processes, and practices related to talent management, employee relations, labor/union relations, compensation, benefits, performance management, and organizational/individual development.

What You'll Do:

  • Partner with leaders to identify and implement actions that foster a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork, and integrity, ensuring a positive employee experience.
  • Consult with business unit management during strategic planning and develop HR strategies that support business needs. Collaborate with leaders on strategic and tactical HR issues.
  • Partner with leaders to develop talent within their teams.
  • Assist field management with collective bargaining agreement interpretation and participate in grievance procedures.
  • Investigate and resolve employee and labor relations issues in consultation with legal counsel.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (e.g., FMLA, Workers' Compensation, Title VII, ADA, EEOC, ADEA, FLSA, OSHA).
  • Develop, recommend, and implement HR processes, systems, and services for managers and employees.
  • Support and advise employees and managers on the proper interpretation and administration of company policies.
  • Help maintain positive employee relations by assessing internal employee climate.
  • Act as a liaison to other HR functions when necessary.
  • Lead or participate in HR projects and initiatives as assigned.
  • Create and deliver internal communications regarding benefits, compensation, and HR policies and procedures.

What You'll Bring:

  • 10+ years of experience in a related HR role
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information professionally and discreetly
  • Experience with unionized workgroups and collective bargaining agreements is a plus
  • Strong judgment to resolve problems effectively, consistent with HR standards and legal requirements
  • Knowledge of HR best practices, policies, and labor laws
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and relevant HR tools/technology
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all organizational levels
  • Strategic thinking to translate business needs into HR initiatives
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%
