Job summary

Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana is seeking an HR Specialist to provide general support to the Human Resources Department. You will assist with applicant tracking, employee events, and term/hire paperwork, maintaining confidentiality and compliance with state gaming regulations.

In this role you will coordinate HR functions across ER/LR, payroll, benefits, and gaming, after-hours support, and contribute to weekly audits and benefit administration while delivering excellent internal guest

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or higher and 1+ years of HR or related work experience.
  • Must successfully pass background check and drug screening.
  • Must be twenty-one (21) years of age.
  • Excellent telephone etiquette and professional communication required.
  • Able to work holidays and weekends and flexible shifts.
  • Knowledge of office procedures and MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

  • Assist HR with assigned projects and events; provide guidance to applicants and team members.
  • Assist HR with applicant tracking activities: screening, sourcing, paperwork, and HR database updates.
  • Support after-hours HR activities for all departments (ER/LR, Payroll, Benefits, Gaming).
  • Complete weekly term audits and renewal processes; manage exit and stay interviews.
  • Coordinate Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) activities and unemployment claims as needed.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all data and information; provide courteous internal service to team members.

Relieves the director and managers of administrative duties such as reception, employee events, job fairs, copying.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:(These functions are intended as a general illustration of the work performed in this job classification and are not all inclusive for this position)Assist other members of the Human Resources Department with assigned projects and various events.Provide guidance and assistance to applicants, Team Members, and leadership, as needed.Assists HR personnel with various functions within the applicant tracking system, i.e. screening/sourcing applicants, checking for completed New Hire Paperwork, process term transactions, send out contact letters, updated badging information in the HR database, etc.Responsible for assisting Hard Rock TMs will all areas of Human Resources (ER/LR, Payroll, Benefits, Gaming) after normal business hours.Completes weekly term report audits.Assist the ER/LR Team with planning and executing TM Events.Responsible for the Three-Year Renewal process (contact TM, meet with TM to go over forms, notarizes forms, schedule appt with IGC, send paperwork to IGC prior to appt., etc)Administers the Exit Interview and Stay Interview processes, analyzes data and generates reports to operators.Owns the coordination of the Work Opportunity Tax Credit function.Assists with Unemployment claims and processing as needed.Maintain strict confidentiality of all data and information.Provide timely and courteous internal guest service to Team Members of all levels.Assist with other new hire related functions during peak hiring season.Perform work regularly and adheres to all Indiana Gaming Regulations.NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSAttend seminars when needed.EDUCATION AND /OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:(Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year for year basis)High School Diploma or higher and 1 or more years of work experience in Human Resources or other professional environment.ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: (Licenses, Certifications, Testing, etc.):Must obtain and maintain all licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Indiana Gaming Commission.Must successfully pass background check.Must successfully pass drug screening.Must be twenty-one (21) years of age.Excellent telephone etiquette is also required.Must be able to work holidays and weekends, as well as flexible shifts.KNOWLEDGE OF:Office procedures, methods, and equipment including computers and applicable software applications such as word processing, email, spreadsheets, and databases to include excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.Pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations.ABILITY TO:Present an image of excitement, enthusiasm, and outgoing personality, while being able to project a professional appearance.Present information and speak publicly to groups.Skill in developing successful working relationships with management and peers within department and outside of the department.Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted during work.The above information on this description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by team members within this classification.
