Workhorse Group Inc. is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to support our Detroit area operations. This role partners with business leaders, provides hands-on HR support, and drives compliant, employee-centered HR practices across the organization.

The ideal candidate brings strong benefits knowledge, executive-level communication skills, and HRIS experience (Paylocity preferred). Four days a week in office is preferred, with a hybrid work model to support a dynamic, growth-focused

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in HR or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive HR experience with leadership exposure.
• Strong benefits knowledge and HRIS experience (Paylocity preferred).
• Excellent executive-level communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as strategic HR partner to leaders on ER, performance, and workforce planning.
• Manage employee relations, investigations, coaching, and policy interpretation.
• Oversee benefits administration including enrollments and vendor coordination.
• Communicate HR initiatives and updates to executives clearly.
• Support compensation, performance, and talent processes aligned with goals.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
• Maintain HR data in the HRIS and generate analytics for decisions.
• Collaborate with payroll, finance, and leadership to ensure accuracy.
• Support onboarding, engagement, and retention initiatives.
• Assist with immigration-related processes and compliance.

What You Will Do

• Serve as a strategic HR partner to leaders and executives, providing guidance on employee relations, performance management, workforce planning, and organizational effectiveness
• Manage and support employee relations matters, including investigations, coaching, conflict resolution, and policy interpretation
• Oversee and support benefits administration, including enrollments, employee education, vendor coordination, and issue resolution
• Partner with executives to clearly communicate HR initiatives, policies, and organizational updates
• Support compensation, performance, and talent processes in alignment with company goals
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
• Maintain and update employee records and HR data within the HRIS
• Leverage HR analytics and reporting to identify trends and inform decision-making
• Collaborate with payroll, finance, and leadership teams to ensure accuracy and alignment.
• Support onboarding, employee engagement initiatives, and retention strategies.
• Manage and support immigration-related processes, including coordination with immigration counsel, visa tracking, documentation, and compliance requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 5+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a manager or lead capacity
• Strong working knowledge of employee benefits programs and administration
• Proven ability to communicate effectively and professionally with executive leadership
• HRIS experience required; Paylocity experience strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of employment law and HR best practices
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
• Experience supporting a hybrid workforce is a plus
