Job summary

Trelleborg Sealing Solutions Switzerland AG is seeking an HR Manager to lead strategic and hands-on people initiatives. You will partner with business leaders to translate business needs into HR actions that strengthen culture, engagement, and performance.

Responsibilities include complex employee relations, investigations, compliance, payroll oversight, recruitment, and training. Travel up to 10% may be required; GDPR data handling is essential.

Qualifications

  • 4-year degree in Business, HR, Communications or related field.
  • 7+ years in HR management with career progression.
  • 2+ years in multi-shift manufacturing operations.
  • 2+ years experience with unionized labor force.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.
  • Knowledge of HR principles and federal/state laws.

Responsibilities

Description

The Human Resources Manager plays a key strategic and hands‑on role in developing and implementing people-focused initiatives that support our organizational goals. This position partners proactively with respective business leaders to understand evolving business needs and translate them into actionable HR strategies that strengthen our culture, enhance employee engagement, and drive organizational performance.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Collaborate with business leaders to align HR strategies with overall organizational goals.

Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations. Provide guidance on employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, performance improvement plans, and policy adherence.

Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal resources as needed/required. Management of site UI, WC, EEO, etc.

Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to managers (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, training recommendations and disciplinary actions).

Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase employee engagement and retention.

Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.

Leads recruitment efforts and develops contract terms for new hires, promotions and transfers.

Payroll management; work with managers to ensure timecard accuracy and consistency. Reviewing final ledger for accuracy before payments are released.

May include support and interpretation of employee benefit programs, company vehicles, training development, etc.

Ensure site is maintaining employee records, data and reporting with the highest degree of confidentiality and in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Coordinate/develop training plans as needed. Manage annual review process and assist in performance management including both compensation/incentives and warnings/discipline process.

Education and Experience:
  • 4-year degree in a Business, Human Resources, Communications or related field
  • Minimum of 7 years in HR management related discipline, with demonstrated career progression
  • Minimum 2 years experience in multi-shift manufacturing operations
  • Minimum 2 years experience with unionized labor force
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
  • Knowledge of HR principles and best practices
  • Knowledge of federal/state laws and regulations
  • Polished interpersonal skills
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment
  • Ability to productively and amicably confront conflict
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex documents

Compensation range: $100,000 - $140,000
