Job summary

Spectrum, a leading communications provider, seeks a Manager of Human Resources to drive HR strategy across recruitment, employee relations and equal opportunity. In RapidScale, you’ll partner with leadership to implement initiatives that address complex issues in a high-growth environment.

This hybrid role blends tactical tasks with strategic HR support, including coaching leaders and managing talent and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, organizational behavior, related field or equivalent.
• 5+ years of Human Resource Generalist experience in a multi-location environment.
• Master’s degree preferred for advancement.
• PHR/SPHR or equivalent HR certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Partner with leadership to design and implement HR strategies aligning with business objectives.
• Provide consultative HR support to managers on performance, development, and organizational change.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and policies.
• Oversee employee relations, investigations, and ethics reports to ensure fair treatment.
• Lead recruiting, onboarding, and retention strategies with EEOC compliance.
• Manage HR operations including payroll, benefits, unemployment, workers’ comp, and HRIS.

Job description

This role requires the ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future.

Drive human resources strategy across recruitment, employee relations and equal opportunity employment by partnering with leadership to implement initiatives that achieve organizational objectives. As a Manager, Human Resources at Spectrum, supporting RapidScale, a high-growth business undergoing significant transformation, you’ll combine HR mastery and industry knowledge to evaluate and resolve complex issues in a fast paced environment.

This is a highly flexible HR role that balances tactical and transactional responsibilities (such as tickets, emails and reporting) with strategic HR support, including leader coaching, employee relations and talent and performance management. You’ll work within a team where building trusted relationships is important. Your work will directly support Spectrum’s ability to meet business goals.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Partner with leadership to design and implement short and long term HR strategies that support organizational objectives and simplify the customer experience
• Provide consultative HR support to managers and supervisors, including guidance on performance management, employee development and organizational change
• Ensure legal compliance with all applicable federal state and local employment laws, including Fair Labor Standards Act, Family and Medical Leave Act and Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act
• Oversee employee relations by conducting investigations, managing escalated issues including ethics reports, and ensuring company policies are administered fairly and consistently
• Oversee recruiting, staffing, onboarding and retention strategies while ensuring compliance with equal employment opportunity, Federal Communications Commission and affirmative action requirements
• Manage HR operations including payroll and commission processing, benefits enrollment, unemployment and workers compensation claims, HRIS maintenance and HR communications

Working Conditions

• This position observes a hybrid work schedule: 4 days in office/1 day remote
• RapidScale is headquartered in Raleigh, North Carolina
• This role may require up to 25% travel

Required Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, organizational behavior, related field or equivalent

Experience

• 5+ years of Human Resource Generalist experience in a multi-location environment
