Job Description

The Human Resources Manager plays a vital role in the success of Robert’s Hawaii on Hawaii Island, expertly managing every part of the employee lifecycle from recruitment to exit while ensuring compliance with federal and state labor laws. The Human Resources Manager is a highly motivated, results-driven professional with at least five years of experience, ready to apply their skills in talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, and HR strategy to help our company grow. The Human Resources Manager will demonstrate exceptional skill in creating a positive work environment, significantly enhancing employee engagement, and developing innovative HR policies that directly support and align with our organizational objectives, mission, and core values.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
  • Talent Acquisition: Leading the full-cycle recruitment process to attract top-tier talent, conducting strategic sourcing and engaging interviews to identify the best candidates, and ensuring seamless onboarding to foster immediate contribution and long-term success within the organization.
  • Compensation and Benefits: Managing and administering employee benefits and leave programs (including FMLA, TDI, WC, and HFLL) to attract and retain top talent.
  • Employee Relations: Committed to cultivating a vibrant and collaborative work environment, we excel at addressing employee disciplinary matters with fairness, conducting thorough investigations into allegations of wrongdoing, and actively fostering open communication channels. These efforts ensure a motivated, transparent, and productive organization.
  • Compliance: Ensuring the organization's strict compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations is essential. This includes meticulously adhering to Hawaii's specific labor laws concerning wages, record-keeping, and discrimination to demonstrate our unwavering commitment to lawful and ethical employment practices.

  • Ideal candidates will have experience in the tour, transportation, entertainment, food, and beverage sectors, with a preference for those who have worked in Hawaii. Your proven expertise in these areas can make a significant difference.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a properly insured vehicle to meet our essential requirements.
  • An exceptional communicator with outstanding listening skills, capable of building strong, enduring relationships.   • I am highly adaptable with a flexible schedule, ready to be available 24/7, including holidays, ensuring all business needs are met.

Working Conditions and Environment
  • Flexible schedule—Monday through Friday, with occasional weekends, weeknights, and holidays.
  • Must have reliable transportation to travel around the island and reach various operational sites.
  • Must be able to work at both Hawaii Island Office locations—Kona and Keaau.
  • Primarily working in an air‑conditioned office; however, there may be occasions when work outdoors or in other environments is required.
  • Learn and practice good ergonomic habits by properly using an office chair and desk.
  • Knowledge of and consistent use of standard office tools, equipment, and supplies.
  • Exposure to potential eye and muscle strain from prolonged computer use.
  • Must be able to sit and stand comfortably for long periods to ensure optimal performance and productivity.
  • Engage in all types of movement — walking, standing, kneeling, bending, pulling, and pushing — to improve strength, versatility, and resilience.
  • Easily handle and transport loads over 40 pounds, demonstrating strength and dependability.
