Job summary

Stella-Jones Corporation in Fayetteville, Tennessee, is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to launch and lead our new steel lattice tower facility. The site will grow to 200+ employees as operations scale.

You will partner with plant leadership to shape culture, lead workforce planning, recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, training, and performance management while ensuring compliance and driving engagement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Eight (8) or more years of overall Human Resources work experience.
  • Five (5) or more years of HR leadership experience, preferably as an HR Manager, HR Supervisor, or other site-level HR leadership role.
  • HR experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field highly preferred.
  • Experience supporting plant start-up, expansion, or growth preferred.
  • Excellent knowledge of employee relations, recruitment, performance management, training, compensation, benefits, HR compliance, and HRIS administration.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach leaders, resolve sensitive issues, and build trust at all levels.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to balance strategic planning with hands‑on execution in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Proficiency with HRIS and Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

Position Overview

Stella-Jones is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to support the launch and long-term success of our brand-new steel lattice tower manufacturing facility in Fayetteville, Tennessee. This newly created role represents a rare ground-floor opportunity for an HR leader to help build the people foundation for a state-of-the-art manufacturing plant that will grow to more than 200 employees once fully operational.

As the site’s HR leader, the Human Resources Manager will serve as a strategic and hands-on partner to plant leadership, Corporate HR, supervisors, and employees. This role will help shape the facility’s culture from the beginning by leading workforce planning, recruiting and onboarding, employee relations, training, performance management, compliance, and employee engagement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and administer HR processes, policies, and programs for the facility.
  • Partner with plant and corporate leadership to align HR strategies with business and operational goals.
  • Develop workforce plans to support plant start-up, growth, and ongoing operations.
  • Lead recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and talent pipeline development for hourly, skilled trades, supervisory, and salaried positions.
  • Build relationships with staffing agencies, schools, workforce organizations, and community partners.
  • Coach managers and supervisors on employee relations, attendance, performance management, policy interpretation, and leadership practices.
  • Address employee concerns, conduct investigations, and recommend appropriate corrective action.
  • Promote consistent and fair application of company policies.
  • Support employee engagement, retention, communication, and organizational development.
  • Coordinate new-hire orientation, compliance training, job-specific training, and leadership development.
  • Administer performance management processes and support managers with goal setting and employee feedback.
  • Partner with Corporate Human Resources on compensation, benefits, payroll, and other HR programs.
  • Maintain accurate HRIS data, personnel files, employee records, and required documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable employment laws and company policies.
  • Partner with Environmental, Health, and Safety leadership to support workplace safety, workers’ compensation, incident reporting, and return-to-work processes.
  • Monitor workforce metrics and provide reports and recommendations to plant and corporate leadership.
  • Support succession planning, career development, and front-line leadership development.
  • Represent the company at job fairs, recruiting events, and community activities.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee, compensation, and business information.
  • Supervise HR staff, as applicable, including assigning work, providing coaching, conducting evaluations, and supporting hiring decisions.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
