Job summary

FirstService Residential is seeking an Human Resources Manager in Dallas to partner with senior leadership and supervisors, serving as a trusted HR advisor across the organization. The role leads employee relations, talent management, HR administration, risk, and compliance to align people strategies with business objectives.

Responsibilities include advising on performance management, investigations, onboarding, and regulatory reporting, with travel within the assigned portfolio as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in HR, business, or related field.
  • SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP/PHR/SPHR or equivalent certifications preferred.
  • 3–7 years of HR experience including employee relations and multi-site support.

Job Overview

The Human Resources Manager partners with senior leadership, managers, and supervisors within the assigned area and serves as a trusted consultant on a wide range of Human Resources matters. This role takes the lead in addressing associate issues and supporting the organization's people strategies and business objectives. The HR Manager is primarily responsible for employee relations, talent management (including succession planning), HR administration, risk management, and compliance. This individual may also support additional HR functions, including leave of absence administration, workers' compensation, leadership development, benefits, talent management, and payroll-related processes.

Job Responsibilities
Company Culture & Leadership
  • Partner with leaders to foster a high-performance culture, address employee relations matters, and support business objectives across the assigned portfolio.
  • Coach leaders and associates on company culture, engagement, and people practices that drive associate satisfaction, retention, and alignment with FirstService Residential's core values.
  • Collaborate with leadership on workforce planning, organizational design, staffing strategies, and engagement action plans to support company goals.
Employee Relations & Performance Management
  • Serve as a trusted advisor on employee relations matters, including performance management, promotions, corrective actions, terminations, Ethics Hotline concerns, and workplace investigations.
  • Advise leaders on talent development, performance management, employee engagement, and succession planning to support business objectives and associate growth.
Compliance & Regulatory
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including EEO, ADA, FMLA, DOL, Workers' Compensation, DFEH, and OSHA
  • Work closely with the HR Director on compliance-related matters, including investigations, information gathering, documentation, and regulatory reporting requirements.
Talent Acquisition, Onboarding & Retention
  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition and hiring managers to attract, assess, hire, and successfully onboard top talent.
HR Metrics & Reporting
  • Analyze turnover, workforce trends, and HR metrics to develop solutions that improve retention, associate engagement, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Provide timely HR reporting and leverage data and technology to drive operational efficiencies and informed decision-making.
Acquisitions & Business Integration
  • Support acquisitions and takeover integrations, including change management, communications, organizational design, policies, compensation, benefits, and cultural alignment.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field.
  • Professional HR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, or equivalent) preferred.
  • 3–7 years of Human Resources experience, including employee relations, workplace investigations, performance management, ADA/FMLA administration, leadership coaching, and multi-site HR support.
Knowledge, Skills, & Proficiencies
  • Demonstrates professionalism, integrity, sound judgment, and a strong commitment to delivering exceptional HR support and service.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of labor and employment laws, wage and hour regulations, compensation administration, and HR best practices.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and collaborate effectively with employees, managers, and business leaders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), ADP, and other HR systems and technology platforms.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise discretion when handling sensitive employee, business, and organizational information.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills, with the ability to independently manage multiple projects and competing deadlines.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and customer service skills, with a focus on delivering practical and associate-centered solutions.
  • Flexibility to support business operations beyond standard office hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Valid Texas Driver's License and state-required automobile insurance required for business-related travel.
  • Bilingual Spanish proficiency preferred.
Travel
  • Travel within the assigned DFW market is required to support associate relations activities, new association launches, and operational priorities. Ability to travel by air as needed to support successful new account transitions and operational requirements.

Compensation range: $95,000 - $100,000, annually. In addition, eligible to participate in FirstService incentive plan with a bonus percentage based on the annual salary.
