Job summary

AlphaX RE Capital, headquartered in Cupertino, CA, seeks an experienced Human Resources Manager to oversee HR operations, talent acquisition, and employee development across our residential real estate portfolio. This role partners with leadership to implement HR strategies that drive a compliant, engaging, high-performance workplace culture.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 5–8 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws, employee relations, performance management, and HR best practices.
  • Experience managing the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, compensation, and offboarding.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, conflict resolution, and coaching skills.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day administration of HR operations, ensuring efficient execution of HR policies, procedures, and employee programs.
  • Manage the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee transitions, and offboarding.
  • Maintain accurate employee records, HR documentation, and personnel files in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve HR policies, SOPs, and best practices that support organizational objectives.
  • Monitor HR metrics and prepare reports to support workforce planning and executive decision-making.
  • Partner with department leaders to identify staffing needs and develop effective recruitment strategies.
  • Oversee recruitment activities, including job postings, candidate selection, interviewing, offer management, and onboarding.
  • Support employee training, career development, leadership development, and succession planning initiatives.
  • Coordinate performance review processes and partner with managers to establish employee development goals.
  • Promote employee engagement initiatives that strengthen company culture, retention, and professional growth.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to managers and employees on employee relations matters, workplace concerns, and HR policies.
  • Investigate employee complaints, workplace conflicts, and policy violations while ensuring fair and consistent resolution.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to managers on performance management, disciplinary actions, and employee development.
  • Support managers in addressing performance concerns through corrective action plans and ongoing coaching.
  • Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive workplace culture that encourages collaboration and accountability.
  • Administer employee compensation and benefits programs in partnership with Payroll and Finance.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including California labor regulations where applicable.
  • Coordinate employee leave administration, workers' compensation, unemployment claims, and other employment-related programs.
  • Support payroll processes by ensuring accurate employee data, compensation changes, and employment records.
  • Prepare for and support internal audits, external audits, and regulatory reporting requirements while maintaining compliance documentation.
  • Partner with executive leadership to develop HR initiatives that support organizational growth and business objectives.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Payroll, Legal, and department managers to align HR strategies with operational needs.
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, systems, and employee programs through continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support organizational change management efforts, workforce planning, and company-wide HR projects.
  • Stay informed on employment law updates, industry trends, and HR best practices to ensure ongoing compliance and operational excellence.

About the Role

This position is employed by AL Homes Inc., a brand of AlphaX RE Capital. We are seeking a Human Resources Manager who will be responsible for overseeing the company's human resources operations, ensuring the effective delivery of talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compensation, benefits administration, compliance, and employee development programs. This role partners with leadership to develop and implement HR strategies that support business objectives while fostering a positive, high-performing workplace culture across the organization.

The ideal candidate is a collaborative and solutions-oriented HR professional with strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. The successful candidate has experience supporting a fast-paced organization, preferably within the residential homebuilding, construction, or real estate development industry, and is committed to creating a compliant, engaging, and employee-focused work environment.

Key Responsibilities

Human Resources Operations

What We’re Looking For

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5–8 years of progressive Human Resources experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws, employee relations, performance management, and HR best practices.
  • Experience managing the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, compensation, and offboarding.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, conflict resolution, and coaching skills.

Preferred

  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification.
  • Experience working for a residential homebuilder, construction company, or real estate developer.
  • Knowledge of California employment laws, wage and hour regulations, leave administration, and multi-state HR practices.
  • Experience implementing HR policies, performance management programs, and employee engagement initiatives.
