Job summary

Great Dane LLC in Chicago is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead employee relations, talent management, and organizational development. You will partner with Finance and business leaders to drive HR programs aligned with strategic goals and compliant with federal and state laws.

In this role you will develop policies, manage HR projects, oversee onboarding, benefits administration, and performance management while mentoring HR staff.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business or related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive HR Generalist experience.
  • HRCI or SHRM certification preferred
  • Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws.
  • Demonstrate ability to influence and deliver results in a multi-unit environment.
  • Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to managers and employees.
  • Must be a critical thinker – able to analyze information, identify complex problems, develop logical solutions.
  • Requires self-management and project management.
  • Proficient in Excel and HRIS (Oracle Fusion, Taleo ATS, and/or Kronos Workforce Central a plus).
  • Travel: Up to 20%

  • Assist VP of HR with research and development of analytical reports in support of business initiatives.
  • Attract, retain, and develop our people.
  • Provide excellent cost-effective solutions.
  • Develop, implement and measure world class policies, practices and guidelines in accordance with applicable federal and state employment laws and regulations.
  • Manage specific projects as determined in the HR strategic planning process and provide HR expertise to the HR functional teams during process development, systems configuration, and HR initiatives.
  • Manage complex employee relations issues to include disciplinary, employee performance, restructuring and terminations.
  • Provide organizational development and change management support throughout the organization.
  • Liaison between operational leaders and corporate HR to ensure HR services are aligned.
  • Provide tactical guidance and support related to HR issues to the Chicago office and field HR.
  • Facilitate solutions to employee and leadership issues.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of progressive HR practices and trends in employment laws and regulations.
  • Conduct hiring processes including job analysis, compensation benchmarking, sourcing and screening applicants, maintaining third party recruiter contracts, and completing onboarding.
  • Administer medical and leave benefits programs, coordinate open enrollment meetings and new hire benefits orientation, and guide employees through leave processes and tracking.
  • Advise line and department staff on employment decisions including individual coaching and group training, progressive discipline, employee performance, restructuring, and/or termination.
  • Manage the workload, development, and performance of direct reports.
  • Monitor and audit systems and processes to ensure legislative compliance and business standardization.
  • Provide kind and efficient customer service to employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The Position: The Human Resources Manager provides HR direction and support related to employee relations, talent management, employee engagement and organizational development. SALARY RANGE

The expected salary range for this role is $73,783 - $150,209 per year.
