Job summary

Atlantic Contracting & Material Co., Inc. in Chantilly, VA is seeking a senior Human Resources leader to steer the HR strategy in support of the company's culture, direction, and growth.

You will act as a subject matter expert, guiding managers and employees on policy interpretation, compliance, and people programs to maximize organizational effectiveness. This role oversees recruitment, benefits, and employee relations, including open enrollment, workers' comp, and insurance plans; you will

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Associate s degree in Human Resources and minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in construction, or related industry.
  • Strong detail orientation, accuracy, and organizational skills.
  • High standards of accountability, integrity, and confidentiality.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, professional presentation, and persuasion skills to engage senior levels.
  • Approachable, proactive, positive, and professional.
  • Professional business writing, editing and proofreading skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple competing projects and time frames.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance of all employment/labor laws through programs, practices, policies, investigations, training, and actions.
  • Stay current with Federal and State laws and regulations, including Title VII, FLSA, ADA, FMLA, ADEA, NLRA, etc.
  • Protect the company's interests by ensuring all legal requirements for equal employment and compliance are met.
  • Provide support to President and Vice President with employee relations issues, interpretation of company policy and employment laws.
  • Counsel, orientate, and train managers and supervisors on the interpretation of Human Resources policies.
  • Administer Human Resources policies and procedures as they pertain to all employees.
  • Oversee, handle, and manage employee relation issues. Assist with employee coaching, counseling and discipline.
  • Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to maintain efficient and effective services.
  • Maintain all personnel records.
  • Manage and oversee Workers Compensation, Auto, and General Liability insurance claims.
  • Develop and implement Human Resources policies and procedures addressing benefits program administration, employee relations, performance management, organizational effectiveness, employee engagement, and communication.
  • Oversee and manager open enrollment
  • Manage lifecycle of employee Benifits Health, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance
  • Manage ACMs recruiting, employee retention, hiring, and termination efforts.
  • Conduct background checks and manage airport and federal badging process.

Job description

This position provides strategic direction and input to business leaders regarding overall Human Resource strategies that support the culture, company direction, and the growth needs of the business and employees. Requirements

Bachelor or Associate’s degree in Human Resources and minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in construction, or other related industry, required
