Job summary

The Little League International Human Resources Internship – Summer 2027 in Williamsport, PA, seeks three qualified students to join the HR team from May to August, with a flexible start and end date. The internship will run approximately May to August with a flexible start and end date.

The hours typically follow normal business hours Monday – Friday, earns $18 per hour, commensurate with skills and experience for 35 flexible hours per week with occasional evenings and weekends for recruiting

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in HR, HCM, Business, or related field and enrolled in good standing.
• Strong organizational, time management, and multi-project prioritization abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and ability to work with staff at all levels.
• Demonstrated customer service skills and teamwork experience.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Live within commuting distance to Williamsport, PA for Summer 2027; housing stipend provided.

Responsibilities

• Lead recruitment for ~400 seasonal roles for the World Series and manage full hiring flow.
• Create job postings, post to boards, prescreen candidates, hire and onboard.
• Assist with recruitment events, orientations, and HR projects.
• Coordinate interviews and onboarding including I-9 and work permits.
• Track recruitment data and prepare weekly reports.

Little League® International Human Resources Internship – Summer 2027

Little League International in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, is seeking THREE qualified students to join the HR team for the summer of 2027. The internship will run from approximately May to August with a flexible start and end date. The hours typically follow normal business hours Monday – Friday, earns $18 per hour, commensurate with skills and experience for 35 flexible hours per week with occasional evenings and weekends for recruiting events.

Acceptance into the internship is contingent on all applicable background checks. Applicant must be currently enrolled in a degree program preferably pursuing a degree in human resources, human capital management, business, corporate communications, or related field with a strong desire to work in the field of Human Resources.

ABOUT LITTLE LEAGUE INTERNATIONAL

Located in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania, we are the administrative and operational headquarters for Little League Baseball and Softball, the leading nonprofit youth sports organization with 75+ years of history supporting youth baseball and softball. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A HUMAN RESOURCES INTERN AT LITTLE LEAGUE INTERNATIONAL

This HR position will lead recruitment efforts for approximately 400 seasonal employees who will work during the 2027 Little League Baseball World Series. Responsibilities will include managing the full hiring process, from creating job postings and recruiting candidates to conducting prescreen interviews, hiring, and onboarding new employees. This position will also assist with recruiting events, employee orientations, and other HR projects while working closely with the HR team.

Duties may include, but not limited to:

• Preparation of job postings and post jobs on multiple online job boards
• Lead recruitment outreach efforts for our Little League Baseball World Series positions, including connecting with colleges and universities to promote job opportunities and attract qualified candidates
• Act as brand ambassador to promote our recruitment and participate in career fairs
• Plan job fair events from start to finish
• Increase candidate engagement through planned communication efforts
• Collaborate with other departments to create content supporting recruitment on social media
• Test and improve our application process
• Complete pre-screens
• Coordinate and schedule interviews with hiring managers
• Follow up on interview process status
• Track and coordinate onboarding processes, including the collection of I-9 documentation, work permits, completion of required trainings, and other employment paperwork
• Perform HR research as directed
• Track recruitment data and complete weekly reports on recruitment metrics
• Assist with various HR projects and initiatives as assigned
• Plan and coordinate social events and activities for fellow interns within the Internship Program to encourage engagement, networking, and relationship-building

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A HUMAN RESOURCES INTERN:

• Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Human Capital Management, Business, Corporate Communications, or related field and are currently enrolled in good standing at a university majoring in this field
• Strong organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize workload, complete multiple projects, and assignments, in addition to time management skills
• Demonstrates energy, pleasant demeanor, and the ability to communicate effectively and the ability to work with staff at all levels of the organization
• Must have demonstrated customer service skills and experience working within a team
• Must have ability to maintain strict confidentiality
• Computer proficiency for correspondence, data entry, e-mail, spreadsheets, Internet, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
• Self-motivated individual with strong attention to detail and demonstrated organizational skills
• Demonstrates excellent writing composition and editing skills including thorough knowledge of English, grammar, spelling and punctuation
• Live within commuting distance to Williamsport, PA, 17701, for the summer of 2027 (a stipend is provided to help offset some of the housing costs upon providing rental agreement)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with social media outlets (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram) for the purpose of employer brand marketing a plus.
• A passion for youth-sports and the belief that the power of youth baseball and softball teaches life lessons that build stronger individuals and communities!
