Job summary

Sinclair is seeking an HR Generalist to provide direct support across HR functions for multiple Pennsylvania-based TV stations under Corporate HR. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years’ experience in recruitment, ATS, and leave administration, with strong communication and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related program.
• 3+ years of HR Generalist experience including recruitment workflows, ATS, and leave administration.
• Broadcast or related media experience is preferred.
• Ability to collaborate with a team while independently managing time, priorities, and projects.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, TEAMS and Word.
• HRIS experience, Oracle HRIS or other cloud-based platform is a plus.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and confidential handling of information.

Responsibilities

• Provide responsive, professional HR support to employees and managers.
• Develop and maintain understanding of our people, work, and culture.
• Support recruitment activities: postings, interviews, offer letters, ATS updates, pre-employment steps, and recordkeeping.
• Ensure compliance with employment regulations (FLSA, ADA, EEO, state/local laws).
• Coordinate onboarding and offboarding processes in applicable systems.
• Maintain knowledge of HR systems (Oracle Cloud HRIS).
• Address employee relations matters with managers (performance, concerns, investigations).
• Support benefits administration including education, Open Enrollment, audits.
• Administer leaves of absence and coordinate reasonable accommodation process.
• Respond to unemployment, workers' comp claims, and employment verifications.
• Maintain confidential HR records and data; support compliance, reporting, audits.

Job description

Sinclair is looking for a dynamic Human Resources Generalist who will be responsible for direct support and guidance in various functional areas of human resources for multiple Pennsylvania-based TV stations under the general direction of Corporate Human Resources. Positive attitude, effective communication, follow-through, and attention to detail are must-have attributes for this position. Visits to other TV stations, including some occasional overnight travel will be required.

This is a full-time, five-day, in-office position.

While No Day Will Be Exactly The Same, You'll Be Involved In a Variety Of HR Functions, Including But Not Limited To

• Provide responsive, professional HR support to employees and managers.
• Develop and maintain a strong understanding of our people, work, and culture.
• Support talent acquisition activities, including job postings, interview coordination, candidate communications, offer letter preparation, ATS updates, pre-employment steps, and FCC/EEO recruitment recordkeeping.
• Ensure compliance with employment regulations, including FLSA, ADAA, EEO, and applicable state and local employment laws.
• Interpret and apply company policies and procedures.
• Coordinate onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring all required tasks are completed in the appropriate systems.
• Maintain working knowledge of HR systems, including Oracle Cloud HRIS.
• Partner with managers to address employee relations matters, including performance, employee concerns, investigations, and policy interpretation.
• Support benefits administration, including employee education and communication, Open Enrollment, and audits as needed.
• Administer and track leaves of absence, including FMLA, and applicable state and local sick leave requirements; coordinate the reasonable accommodation process.
• Respond to unemployment claims, workers' compensation claims, and employment verifications.
• Maintain confidential electronic HR records and accurate employee data.
• Support HR compliance, reporting, and audit activities, including required documentation and recordkeeping.
• Assist in planning and coordinating team trainings, morale events, and activities.
• Perform other related duties and HR initiatives as assigned.

What You'll Bring To The Team

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related program of study.
• 3+ years of HR Generalist experience, including experience in recruitment workflows, ATS, and leave administration.
• Broadcast or related media experience is preferred.
• Ability to collaborate with a team while independently managing time, priorities, and projects.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, TEAMS and Word.
• Previous HRIS experience required, Oracle HRIS or other cloud-based platform experience is a plus.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and proactively with employees at all levels in person, by phone, on camera, and in writing.
• Ability to exhibit a high degree of confidentiality and proper judgement under pressure and in sensitive situations.
• Positive attitude and strong commitment to executing job responsibilities.
