Job summary

Jewish Family Service of Colorado is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to lead recruitment, onboarding, policy administration, and training programs. You will partner with managers, administer the HRIS, and stay up-to-date on employment laws while supporting a positive workplace culture.

The role emphasizes full-cycle recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and training delivery within an in-office Denver setting. A Bachelor's/Master's in HR and HR certification are preferred.

• Administers Training Today LMS and supervises manager training.
• Maintains HR forms and policies with Compliance Manager.
• Supports performance management, employee development, and accountability.
• Handles employment inquiries and escalates sensitive matters to CHRO.
• Keeps current with federal/state/local employment laws.
• Supports wellness and recognition initiatives and positive culture.
• Oversees background check compliance.

Salary Range: 60,000 - 75,000 yearly

Position Summary:

• The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for recruitment and training. This position assists with creating, updating, and administering the Agency’s Human Resources policies, procedures, processes, and programs. This position provides support for employee law compliance, employee relations, onboarding/offboarding, performance management, policy implementation, and day-to-day operations.

Essential Functions*:

• Conducts exempt and non-exempt recruiting, including assessing staffing needs, posting job advertisements, screening candidates, interviewing, coordinating with managers in hiring decisions, and extending job offers.


• Executes all tasks involved with full-cycle recruitment, with assistance from the HR Coordinator.


• Partners with managers to determine ongoing training needs.


• Administers Training Today, the JFS Learning Management System.


• Keeps current with and administers Manager Training. This may include supervisory/management training, computer training, certifications, and skill/competency assessments.


• Works with the Compliance Manager to keep human resources forms and policies current.


• Supports managers and employees with the performance management process, employee development, and accountability.


• Assists in providing support and input to management regarding employee relations issues, from coaching to corrective action.


• Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the Chief Human Resource Officer.


• Stays current with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.


• Supports culture initiatives, including wellness and recognition programs, and assists supervisors and team members in maintaining a positive working culture.


• Oversees compliance with required employee background checks.


• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Education/Experience:


• Preferred bachelor’s/master's degree in human resources, related field, or equivalent work experience.


• PHR/SHRM designation is a plus.


• Prior human resource management experience is preferred.


• Experience with all aspects of recruitment.

Other:

• Ability to determine training needs.


• Ability to develop and implement training methodologies.


• Working knowledge of HRIS systems is required.


• Experience with salary data and compensation analysis is a plus.


• Familiarity with Paylocity is helpful.

Certification/Licensing:

• PHR/SHRM designation preferred.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• None.

Work Environment:

• In-Office Position: Work is primarily performed in our office at 3201 South Tamarac Dr., Denver 80231. Work hours are generally during regular business hours, with occasional flexibility required to support agency needs.


• Essential physical requirements: Frequently sitting and typing. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate and use standard office equipment.


• Physical effort/lifting: The employee may occasionally be required to lift up to 10 pounds.
