About the Role:
The Human Resources Generalist supports the Human Resources Leader and provides day-to-day support across payroll, benefits, employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, compliance, performance management, and HR systems. The ideal candidate is resourceful, exercises good judgment, and is eager to learn and grow.
Payroll, Benefits & HR Operations
- Support payroll processing and help resolve payroll questions or discrepancies.
- Administer employee benefits, including enrollments, changes, open enrollment, and employee questions.
- Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS information.
- Prepare routine HR reports and support process improvements.
Employee Relations & Compliance
- Respond to employee and manager questions regarding HR policies and practices.
- Support employee-relations matters and documentation under the guidance of the Human Resources Leader.
- Maintain working knowledge of California and federal employment laws and support compliance activities.
- Handle confidential information with sound judgment and discretion.
- Support recruiting, interview coordination, offers, and pre-employment steps.
- Coordinate onboarding and offboarding activities.
- Support managers and employees throughout the employment process.
Performance Management & HR Support
- Support the performance-evaluation process and related documentation.
- Assist with employee development, engagement, and other HR initiatives.
- Partner with the Human Resources Leader and HR team on priorities and special projects.
Qualifications
- Two to four years of HR Generalist, HR Coordinator, payroll, benefits, or related experience.
- Hands-on payroll experience required; benefits experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of California and federal employment laws.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- Experience with HRIS and payroll systems.
- Strong communication, organization, and follow-through.
- Resourceful, discreet, eager to learn, and able to manage changing priorities.
