Job summary

Saputo Cheese USA Inc. is seeking an HR Assistant at our Sulphur Springs, TX location to carry out diverse HR programs and day-to-day operations, supporting employees and supervisors.

Under direction, you will ensure accurate time and attendance, assist with leave of absence activities (FMLA, STD, LTD), and help resolve employee inquiries while upholding ethics and Saputo values. A high school diploma plus 2+ years HR experience is expected; a Bachelor’s in HR is preferred.

Qualifications

• 2+ years HR administration experience or equivalent.
• Bachelor's degree in HR is preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; Excel a plus.
• Experience with HRIS and time-keeping systems (Workforce Solutions, Workday) preferred.
• Knowledge of HR and employment laws and processes.
• Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.

Responsibilities

• Carry out various HR programs and procedures for employees at the location.
• Execute day-to-day HR operations and provide employee support.
• Maintain positive employee relations with proactive communication and issue resolution.
• Direct employees to Employee Shared Service Center or Benefits Center as needed.
• Assist with leave of absence activities (FMLA, STD, LTD) and payroll submission.
• Support internal/external compliance audits and uphold Saputo ethics and values.

Ready to bring your best? Under direction, responsible for carrying out various HR programs and procedures for employees at a given Saputo location. This position executes day-to-day Human Resources operations and serves as support for the employees.

How you will make contributions that matter... Ensures positive employee relations by proactive employee communication, prompt issue resolution and fair and equitable treatment. Serve as internal resource for employee inquiries. Direct employees, as necessary, to the appropriate resource such as Employee Shared Service Center and/or Benefits Center. Under direction, provide support with employee investigations at the first level Supervisor and hourly employee levels. Ensures ethics and compliance process is in place. Be approachable and accessible to employees through regular floor presence and direct contact with employees and supervisors. Audit hourly employee time and attendance records to ensure time and attendance is accurate. Follow all established wage & hour compliance controls and corporate governance requirements; submit bi-weekly payroll file. Support leave of absence activities (FMLA, STD, LTD, etc.) to include internal reporting, timely notification to internal and/or external parties, and ongoing communication with employees while they are on leave. Ensure consistent application of Saputo leave policies and procedures; Actively participate in planning and implementation of employee engagement activities and events. Support internal and external compliance audits. Adhere to the Saputo Code of Ethics and actively apply the Saputo Values. Work together professionally in a team environment with coworkers and other department personnel. Support other departments as needed and perform other duties as required by management.

You are best suited for the role if you…

• High School diploma or equivalent or a minimum of 2-years demonstrated experience in an HR administration capacity.
• Bachelor's degree, with a concentration in Human Resources preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, strong Excel skillset a plus.
• Proficiency with HRIS and HR Time Keeping Systems (Workforce Solutions, Workday) preferred.
• Understanding of HR and employment laws and processes.
• Demonstrates business maturity and integrity, especially when dealing with highly confidential information.
• Must be self-motivated and able to work well independently.
• Ability to understand and add value to our business.
• Ability to deliver and execute high-quality and consistent Human Resources processes and services.
• Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively and professionally with all departments, management levels within the company, and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work flexible hours in support of a 24/7 manufacturing operation.

Salary Range: $45,685-$59,605 Salary offers will vary commensurate with experience, educations, skills and training
