Job summary

Sierra Pacific Industries in Sonora, CA is seeking an experienced Human Resources professional to manage HR functions for hourly personnel and to lead HR programs across the mill. You will partner with the Mill Manager and Supervisors to recruit, hire, and retain a skilled workforce while overseeing payroll and benefits administration.

This role requires knowledge of federal and state employment laws, the ability to handle confidential information, and strong leadership and communication skills

Qualifications

  • 2 years of HR experience or educational equivalent.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Federal and State employment laws.
  • Proven ability to work independently, discretely, and handle confidential information.
  • Ability to analyze problems and make decisions with minimal management intervention.
  • Ability to establish the position as a resource and partner with management.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, communicate, and motivate for best people management practices.

Responsibilities

  • Full responsibility for mill payroll and payroll processes.
  • Communicate and administer Company benefit plans.
  • Coordinate with the Company's main Human Resources department.
  • Implement Company-wide HR policies, procedures, and practices at mill level.
  • Audit, monitor, and implement Company HR policies, conduct investigations, maintain records, and represent the Company at hearings.
  • Maintain understanding of, and ensure compliance with, State and Federal employment laws and Company Policy.
  • Represent the Company in community events.
  • Assist in developing, managing, and implementing internal communications.

Compensation

The general wage range for this position at Sierra Pacific Industries is from $70,000 to $85,000 per year, and is dependent upon a number of factors, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skill, knowledge, and/or education.
