Job summary

Bechtel Corporation in Lake Charles, LA invites an HR Professional to support policy questions, payroll, benefits, and international assignments. You will monitor HR programs and drive process improvements to enhance project HR operations.

You will mobilize project personnel, coordinate orientation, develop HR metrics, and assist with onboarding/offboarding, while maintaining confidentiality and collaborating across levels of the organization.

Qualifications

  • Typically a University Hire with 1-2 years of experience or 5-6 years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong knowledge of HR disciplines including employee relations, onboarding, performance management, compensation, and learning and development.
  • Working knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Manage mobilization and onboarding for project personnel.

Project Overview

Louisiana LNG is located approximately 11 miles southwest of Lake Charles, Louisiana. The project includes a mid-scale, mixed-refrigerant Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production and export facility on the west side of the Calcasieu River. There are five identical process plants. Each process plant consists of one gas pre-treatment unit, one condensate stabilization unit, and four Chart heavy hydrocarbon (HHC) removal and liquefaction groups. The facility will include associated utilities, refrigerant storage, three 235,000m3 full-containment LNG storage tanks, and three marine berths.

Job Summary

As an HR Professional, you will interact with employees, supervisors, and managers to answer and resolve inquiries and issues on HR policies, such as benefits, payroll, retirement, and international assignments. You will monitor the progress of existing human resource programs, and your work will assist with process improvement and drive HR operational efficiency at Bechtel.

Major Responsibilities
  • Manage the mobilization process for project personnel, ensuring timely and seamless onboarding and assignment coordination and visa support.
  • Coordinate and facilitate project HR orientation sessions for new hires and transferring employees to support successful onboarding and integration
  • Models and instills the culture and organizational values within project
  • Provide timely and practical HR guidance to leaders on staffing, performance management, leave administration, assignment conditions, employee development, and other HR-related matters.
  • Prepare and analyze HR metrics, workforce reports, and other project-related reports to support business decision-making
  • Assists in applicant records/tracking for staffing needs on project
  • Supports onboarding and offboarding logistics
  • Coordinates basic training delivery
  • Answers routine HR policy questions
  • Responds to employee relations inquiries with guidance
  • Monitors compliance checklists and supports data collection for workforce tracking
  • Participate in HR projects, process improvement initiatives, and other assignments as directed by management
Education And Experience Requirements
  • Typically a University Hire with 1-2 years of experience or 5-6 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge And Skills

  • Working knowledge of employment law and HR best practices, with the ability to apply them effectively in workplace situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain data accuracy and ensure compliance with corporate and project requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills with the ability to build effective working relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Proven ability to perform effectively in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
  • Adaptable and flexible, with the ability to respond positively to changing priorities and business needs. Additional Information: Work requires the physical ability to conduct field inspections including but not limited to: extensive walking in and around a construction site often in high heat and high humidity conditions, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces, and working in small or confined spaces. Some lifting may be required. Must have the ability to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress). Must be able to use appropriate standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. harness, life vest, lift buckets, etc.).
