JBM Recruitment has been hired to identify candidates for their HRBP role. The client is located in the Reno/Sparks area. This is a full time on-site opportunity.
Role Description
With an approachable personality and comprehensive HR knowledge, the HRBP will be a key strategic partner with company leaders and provide amazing HR support to the team in all areas of Human Resources.
Responsibilities
- Teams up with leaders and partners with the Recruiting team and assists with recruiting from top to bottom to ensure a fantastic candidate experience. Partners with hiring managers to deeply understand the position, company culture, and what is important to them and communicate with leaders and provide regular updates to their open positions. Trains leaders with behavioral interviewing strategies.
- Teams up with peers – teamwork is key in this role. Must be willing to work any job fair, any type of position, and help the team where needed. Your involvement could be anything from screening, interviewing, reference checks, scheduling drug screens and functional job testing to helping facilitate the internal transfer process.
- Welcomes new employees to the team. Leads new hire orientations to ensure new employees are familiar and excited with company policies, processes, benefits, and culture. Accurate and timely processing of all new hire paperwork is key. Ensure onboarding materials are always up-to-date and welcoming.
- Provides amazing and timely support and coaching to leaders and employees, including some late nights and weekends due to a 24/7 facility. Provides assistance with workplace issues ranging from simple requests to complex issues such as harassment. Partners with leaders and acts as a resource to help investigate issues, including employee complaints and conflicts; provides guidance and coaching with a servant heart; documents issues accurately and timely; assists with employee disciplinary actions; follows up to close the loop on issues and complaints.
- Strong focus on retaining talent. Checks in with employees who leave to learn from their experience; monitors turnover and engages with leaders to improve the employee experience and engagement; analyzes metrics related to turnover and performance management.
- Creates, designs, delivers, and tracks employee and leadership training, including lead training, leadership development, and employment law training.
- Supports safety programs and workers’ compensation administration; coordinates restricted work duty and supports return-to-work efforts; collaborates with leaders to ensure a safety-first workplace.
- Supports FMLA and disability claims, unemployment claims, and HR record auditing; collaborates with leaders on job descriptions and performance reviews; maintains compliance and confidentiality.
- Identifies transactional optimization opportunities and collaborates with HR to streamline and align processes across locations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three years’ related experience including employee relations and/or training; bilingual Spanish strongly preferred.
- SPR or SPHR certification strongly preferred.
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to write reports and business correspondence; effectively present information and respond to questions from employees and the general public.
- Comprehensive knowledge of HR laws and regulations; knowledge of employment law, policies, and procedures; willingness to train groups.
- Curiosity to understand issues and the business; willingness to grow skills.
- Flexibility to work extended hours, including early/late shifts and weekends; ability to support a 24/7 team.
- Strong critical thinking; ability to identify issues, develop solutions, and implement the best option.
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills; approachable, empathetic, and respectful; ability to connect with diverse individuals.
- Excellent communication and listening skills with a servant-minded approach.
