Job summary

IFF is seeking a seasoned Human Resources Business Partner to drive workforce and labor relations across our Memphis operations. This hybrid role partners with site and regional leaders to align goals with people strategies, balancing union-related negotiations and employee relations with business needs.

The successful candidate will bring 7+ years in HRBP/ labor relations, a bachelor’s degree in a related field, and strong data-driven decision-making.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, business, industrial relations, or related field.
  • Minimum 7 years HRBP or related experience.
  • Experience supporting unionized manufacturing environments.
  • Strong knowledge of labor relations practices and arbitration processes.

Responsibilities

  • Translate business objectives into workforce, organizational, leadership, and talent strategies.
  • Develop and execute labor relations strategies supporting operations and engagement.
  • Lead collective bargaining negotiations, grievance handling, contract interpretation, and arbitration prep.

The Human Resources Business Partner role is based in Memphis, Tennessee (hybrid role). Where You'll Make a Difference
  • Partner with site, functional, and regional leaders to translate business objectives into workforce, organizational, leadership, and talent strategies that support business performance.
  • Develop and execute labor relations strategies that support operational goals, workforce stability, employee engagement, and business results.
  • Lead collective bargaining agreement negotiations, grievance administration, contract interpretation, and arbitration preparation activities.
  • Provide guidance to leaders on employee relations and labor relations matters, including investigations, corrective actions, workplace concerns, and terminations.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with union representatives to foster constructive labor-management partnerships and proactively address workforce issues.
  • Lead organizational effectiveness, change management, organizational design, workforce planning, and business transformation initiatives.
  • Facilitate talent reviews, succession planning, retention strategies, and development planning to strengthen organizational capability.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition and business leaders on hiring strategies, critical talent needs, workforce planning, and internal mobility initiatives.
  • Leverage workforce analytics and talent metrics to support data-driven decision-making, while ensuring Human Resources data integrity and reporting accuracy.
What Makes You the Right Fit
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, Organizational Development, or a related field.
  • Minimum of seven years of Human Resources Business Partner, Human Resources Generalist, Labor Relations Manager, or related Human Resources experience.
  • Experience supporting unionized manufacturing or industrial environments.
  • Demonstrated experience leading employee relations investigations, corrective action processes, and performance management activities.
  • Strong knowledge of labor relations practices, collective bargaining agreements, grievance administration, and arbitration processes.
  • Proficiency in the National Labor Relations Act and other applicable employment laws and regulations.
  • Experience partnering with leaders on workforce planning, organizational effectiveness, change management, and talent development initiatives.
  • Ability to analyze workforce data and translate insights into actionable business recommendations.
  • Strong communication, coaching, influencing, and stakeholder management skills across all levels of the organization.
How Would You Stand Out
  • Experience supporting food, ingredients, specialty chemical, manufacturing, or other regulated industrial environments.
  • Professional certification such as Certified Labor Relations Professional, Senior Professional in Human Resources, Professional in Human Resources, Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional, or Society for Human Resource Management Senior Certified Professional.
  • Experience leading large-scale organizational change, culture transformation, or labor negotiations within a complex multi-site environment.
