HR Assistant - Home Health
Location: Orange County, CA
Employment Type: Part-Time
Schedule: Wednesday-Friday, 830am - 5pm
About the Position
We are seeking a reliable, organized, and professional HR Assistant to join our Home Health & Hospice team. The HR Assistant will support the Human Resources department with day-to-day administrative tasks, employee communication, onboarding, personnel records, compliance, and general office support.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable handling confidential information, and able to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department
- Assist with new-hire onboarding, including collecting and maintaining employee documents
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee personnel files
- Assist with employment verifications and employee record requests
- Help track employee licenses, certifications, CPR cards, background checks, and other required credentials
- Assist with employee orientations and onboarding paperwork
- Prepare and distribute HR-related forms, notices, and communications
- Assist with tracking attendance, timekeeping, PTO, and other employee records
- Assist with employee benefits and open enrollment processes
- Help maintain compliance with company policies and applicable employment regulations
- Assist HR with performance documentation, disciplinary notices, and other employee-related paperwork
- Communicate professionally with employees, managers, and healthcare staff
- Assist with payroll-related documentation and resolving basic employee payroll questions
- Maintain HR spreadsheets, reports, and tracking logs
- Provide general administrative and office support as needed
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding employee and company information
- Perform other HR duties and projects as assigned
Qualifications
- Previous HR or administrative experience preferred
- Healthcare or Home Health experience is a plus
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information professionally
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel
- Ability to learn HR, payroll, and healthcare software systems
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Professional, dependable, and team-oriented
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
Preferred Experience
- 1+ year of Human Resources or administrative experience
- Experience with onboarding and maintaining personnel files
- Experience working in a healthcare, Home Health, Hospice, or medical office environment
- Familiarity with employment compliance and credential tracking
- Experience with ADP or other payroll/HR systems is a plus
