Midwest Refrigerated Services, Inc. seeks an HR Site Manager for Belvidere, IL. This full-time role provides HR support including recruiting, onboarding, benefits, leave administration and employee relations.

Partner with HR leadership to develop programs, ensure policy compliance, train managers, and handle workers’ compensation. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field and at least five years of HR generalist experience in a multi-state environment.

Human Resource Site Manager

Full-time Regular Belvidere, IL, US

Salary Range: $75,000.00 To $85,000.00 Annually

Based in Milwaukee, WI, we operate the largest fresh 48 state LTL consolidation pool with more than 100+ trucks, and offer multiple sites with cooler, and air-conditioned storage, distribution, and cross-docking services. TheHR Managerprovides comprehensivehuman resources support for our Belvidere,Illinoislocation.This role managesrecruitingandonboarding, policy and procedure implementation, benefitssupport, workers’ compensation, training, performance management,employee relations, and leave administration. The HR Manager also collaborates with the broader Human Resources team to develop and implement initiatives that support departmental and company objectives.

General Accountabilities include:

• Maintaincompliance withapplicablefederal, state, and local employment laws and regulations;recommend best practices;and regularly reviewpolicies and practicesfor continuedcompliance.
• Work with HR Leadership to develop and implement employment related programs and training.
• Partnerwith hiring managers to understandstaffingneeds anddevelop effectiverecruitmentstrategies.Source, screen,and interviewcandidates, andsupportmanagers inselectingexempt and nonexempt employees.
• Field benefit-related questions from employees. Resolves any issues that arise from new employee or annual open benefit enrollment.
• Manage leave and workers’ compensation administration, including FMLA, short-term disability, and long-term disability processes. Communicate with employees and healthcare providers, maintain required documentation, and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
• Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommend best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
• Track and document employment related information and prepare reports for management as requested.
• Support all MRS operations with employee relations matters. Conduct investigation, prepare documentation, and communicate effectively with management and employees. Provide guidance and training to managers and supervisors on how to resolve employee related issues in compliance with the law and company policies and procedures.
• Prepares dismissal documentation and conduct employee terminations.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by management

Skills Required:

• Strong computer/technology skills including Microsoft office suite, HRIS, Applicant tracking and social media.
• Demonstrated knowledge of IL Labor laws including ADA, and EEO.
• Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality

Prerequisites:

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field.
• 5 years progressively responsible human resources generalist experience in a multi-state environment including experience in human resources and employment law and regulations; high volume recruitment and selection; and employee relations.
• Deep understanding of Illinois Employment Law
• Valid driver’s license
