  • Solid knowledge of regulatory compliance, including FMLA, WC, EEO, OSHA, and other relevant laws.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee recruitment efforts from requisition approvals to onboarding.
  • Handle employee relations and investigations, escalating when needed.
  • Provide performance management support to plant leadership.
  • Interpret and apply HR policies and laws at the plant level.
  • Oversee local HR activities including orientation, open enrollment, and training for hourly employees.
  • Maintain HR records in HRIS and support data-driven decision making.
  • Prepare for audits by ensuring postings and documentation are up to date.
  • Stay current on employment laws to minimize risks and ensure compliance.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety standards and safety program compliance.
  • Supervise administrative staff and participate in team meetings.

Summary :

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for overseeing and managing human resources services, policies, and programs at the plant level. This role collaborates with plant leadership, operations teams, and corporate Human Resources to drive organizational design, implement Human Resources initiatives, and provide strategic workforce analysis and planning to support business objectives.

Schedule :1st shift, Monday-Friday, eight or more hours per day, five days per week based on business needs. Primary schedule will be 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, or similar. Training may occur at other times.

Salary Range: $56,000.00 - $60,000.00 annually.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Work in collaboration with company recruiter to manage recruitment efforts by overseeing all stages of the hiring process, including job requisition approvals, candidate sourcing, application review, interviews, post-offer/pre-hire procedures, and employee onboarding.
  • Handle employee relations at the plant level by addressing conflicts, conducting thorough and objective investigations, and collaborating with plant management to administer discipline or corrective actions as necessary. Escalate complex issues to Corporate HR when appropriate.
  • Provide performance management support to plant leadership, including Leads, Supervisors, and Managers, by offering guidance on performance improvement, feedback, and coaching.
  • Interpret and apply policies and procedures outlined in the employee handbook, as well as relevant state and federal laws, to support plant leadership. Assist in the development and implementation of plant-specific policies and procedures.
  • Oversee local HR activities, including new hire orientation, employee document processing, open enrollment, and the design and execution of training and development programs for hourly employees.
  • Collaborate with management and employees to foster positive work relationships, enhance morale, and drive improvements in productivity and employee retention.
  • Maintain accurate HR records within the HRIS, ensuring proper documentation and timely reporting. Compile and analyze HR data to support decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Prepare for internal and external audits by ensuring compliance with required postings, accurate HRIS records, and proper filing of necessary documentation.
  • Stay current on legal requirements related to employee management, reducing legal risks, ensuring regulatory compliance, and partnering with Corporate HR as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety standards by overseeing employee and plant compliance with organizational policies and safety programs.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of legal requirements related to employee management, ensuring compliance with regulations, mitigating legal risks, and partnering with Corporate HR as needed.
  • Ensure plant and employee compliance with health and safety responsibilities as outlined in organizational policies and safety programs, promoting a safe working environment.
  • Manage the safety incident, injury, and illness reporting process, including timely reporting to the appropriate agencies, overseeing return-to-work programs, and coordinating with insurance agents for case management.
  • Maintain and update the plant’s organizational chart, ensuring accurate and up-to-date reporting structures.
  • Exercise sound judgment to determine when to seek guidance or consult with Corporate HR management on complex or sensitive issues.
  • Supervise administrative staff through a dotted reporting line, providing leadership, support, and direction as necessary.
  • Participate in administrative staff meetings and attend relevant meetings, seminars, and training sessions to stay informed and contribute to team initiatives.
  • Manage the safety incident, injury, and illness reporting process, including reporting to the appropriate agencies, overseeing return-to-work programs, and coordinating with insurance agents for day-to-day case management.

Experience & Qualifications
