Job summary

Peraton seeks a Hull Coatings Design/Fabrication Engineer to support the US Navy hull treatments program onsite in West Bethesda, MD. You will design prototype articles and molds using SolidWorks, fabricate parts, and lead teams through installation and testing with shipyard partners.

The role emphasizes hands-on engineering, collaboration across government and industry teams, and occasional travel to shipyards for two-week periods. A DoD Secret Clearance is required.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering with GPA 3.0+ preferred.
• 5+ years experience or 3+ years with MS/MA.
• SolidWorks design experience.
• Active DoD Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on engineering in support of the US Navy's submarine force.
• Use SolidWorks to design prototype articles and molds.
• Fabricate and/or assist in fabrication of prototype articles and molds.
• Work with engineers, technicians, and shipyard personnel to produce, install, and test advanced polymer items.
• Use hand and shop tools to fabricate, install, and evaluate test articles.
• Interface with government, contractor, and shipyard personnel on technical/schedule requirements.
• Lead teams of engineers and technicians in shipyard installation, training, and testing.
• Travel to public shipyards and other locations for two-week periods.
