Job summary

Dolmen in San Francisco is seeking an Industrial Design Intern to support their award-winning team. Responsibilities include concept development, 3D CAD modeling, and creating compelling visuals using KeyShot.

The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, detail-oriented, and eager to work in a collaborative studio environment. SolidWorks experience is preferred, alongside skills in sketching and visual storytelling.

This is an in-person role at the San Francisco studio, requiring availability five days a week.

We are looking for a hands‑on Industrial Design Intern to join our San Francisco studio and support the team through concept development, sketching, CAD, prototyping, CMF, rendering, and presentation storytelling.

Responsibilities

• Support the design team through concept development, sketching, CAD modeling, prototyping, CMF, rendering, and presentation storytelling.
• Work collaboratively across project phases, from early concept exploration to refined design development.
• Contribute to visual communication by sketching, layout, storytelling, and presentation development.
• Create clear, polished, and compelling visuals using rendering tools such as KeyShot.

Qualifications

• Strong communicator who can clearly share ideas, receive feedback, and contribute in team discussions.
• Excellent 3D CAD modeling and advanced surfacing skills, preferably in SolidWorks; experience in Rhino or Fusion 360 is also welcome.
• Strong visual communication skills, including sketching, layout, storytelling, and presentation development.
• Excellent KeyShot rendering skills, with the ability to create clear, polished, and compelling visuals.
• Detail‑oriented and able to think through form, proportion, materials, CMF, and product details.
• Collaborative team player who is proactive, open to feedback, and excited to contribute in a small studio environment.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced studio environment across a range of project phases.
• Must be available to work in person, five days a week, at our San Francisco studio.
