Job summary

United Airlines is seeking a highly experienced aircraft maintenance professional to join our Technical Operations team. You will coordinate maintenance activities, update critical logs, and ensure effective communication across departments and with flight crews to support on-time performance.

The role requires an FAA A&P certificate, at least five years in aircraft maintenance, and the ability to manage regulatory compliance while coordinating with multiple teams and vendors.

Qualifications

  • FAA A&P certificate required.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and track planned maintenance for thru flights.
  • Update TOC and AMIS logs for aircrafts in maintenance.
  • Coordinate station supplier requirements for maintenance activities.
  • Communicate maintenance troubleshooting and repair procedures.
  • Ensure delay reports are entered and delay data tracked.

Responsibilities

Reporting to Manager or Shift Manager, represent the station Technical Operations department in a professional manner while interacting and coordinating with other departments in the Station Operations Center, Aircraft Routing, Aircraft Dispatch, and Flight Crews.

  • Receive and coordinate the recovery of maintenance discrepancies initiated by inbound and outbound flight crews.
  • Notify and communicate the status of aircraft that are out of service or on a maintenance delay to Maintenance Control and Local Operations.
  • Coordinate and track planned maintenance efforts for thru flights.
  • Initiate and update TOC (Technical Operations Computer System) and AMIS logs on all aircraft that are out of service, in a planned hold or have significant maintenance activities ongoing.
  • Coordinate station supplier requirements that are required to support maintenance activities.
  • Identify and communicate maintenance troubleshooting and repair procedures as required.
  • Ensure delay reports are entered and compile delay data for tracking and analysis.
Requirements/Qualifications

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • FAA A&P Certificate.
  • 5 years in the aircraft maintenance industry.
  • Contract and regulatory experience.
  • Meets or exceeds operational performance goals including on-time performance, maintenance check span, productivity & safety objectives.
  • Meets or exceeds business plan objectives.
  • Identifies the need for change and or improvement and executes the same involving the appropriate people and level of resources as needed.
  • Builds and maintains a professional and productive work environment for labor groups and management teams.
  • Effectively communicates with employees of all levels aligning the team for success.
  • Extensive knowledge of aircraft maintenance operations and applicable FAA regulations.
  • Setting up ongoing procedures to collect and review information needed to manage an organization or ongoing activities within it.
  • Identifying and understanding issues, problems, and opportunities; comparing data from different sources to draw conclusions; using effective approaches for choosing a course of action or developing appropriate solutions; taking action that is consistent with available facts, constraints, and probable consequences.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship.
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification.
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position.

  • Bachelor's degree or 4 years of relevant work experience.
  • Aviation Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • 2 years in a leadership role within a large maintenance organization including a unionized labor workforce. A proven successful track record.
  • Strong cultural awareness to build and maintain professional relationships on a global basis.
