Job summary

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is seeking an experienced Biomedical Equipment Technician to perform repair, calibration and preventive maintenance on diagnostic imaging equipment. This on-site role supports clinicians and maintains equipment safety and reliability.

The ideal candidate has at least 4 years of imaging repair experience, an AS degree in Biomedical Technology (or equivalent), and strong attention to detail. Work week is Monday–Friday, with day shift from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM.

Qualifications

  • 4 years of experience in diagnostic imaging equipment repair
  • Bachelor level knowledge in biomedical technology or related field preferred

Responsibilities

  • Ensures proper maintenance of all imaging equipment, including warranty, leased, and loaner equipment.
  • Diagnoses problems, repairs to circuit board level, and re-calibrates equipment.
  • Tracks, schedules, and completes preventive maintenance checks by due dates.
  • Maintains ongoing active communications with clinicians regarding equipment status.
  • Coordinates outside repairs with radiology equipment manufacturers.
  • Assists in or performs incident investigations.
  • Ensures equipment is properly tested before being returned to service.

Job Description

Provides complete and timely repair, calibration, and preventive maintenance of required equipment faster and economically than any outside vendor. Promotes the mission, vision, and values of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, meets regulatory requirements, and maintains required records. Proactively supports efforts that ensure delivery of safe patient care and services and promote a safe environment at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

Experience
  • 4 years of experience in diagnostic imaging equipment repair
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering
Education
  • Associate of Science or equivalent in Biomedical Technology or related field
Certification Summary
  • No professional certifications required
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • Proficient in various hardware/software applications and equipment database programs
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Must be detailed oriented and have excellent follow through skills
