Job summary
AmeriCorps is seeking a Prevention Specialist (School-Based) to implement prevention programs aimed at improving the physical and mental health of youth aged 12 to 18. The role supports school-based initiatives, facilitates educational sessions, and coordinates outreach under the supervision of the Prevention Program Manager.
The position offers a stipend and related training, with a part-time schedule and Virginia-based site locations.
Qualifications
- Candidates should be pursuing or have completed some college.
- Experience or coursework in youth development or education is a plus.
- Ability to facilitate educational sessions and activities with adolescents.

Job description
Under the supervision of the Prevention Program Manager, member will be responsible for implementing prevention programs and initiatives aimed at promoting the physical and mental health and overall well-being of youth ages 12 to 18. This includes facilitating educational sessions, coordinating outreach efforts, and supporting activities that foster healthy development and resilience among adolescents. Members will also receive training and/or certification towards youth mental health and behavioral health. Members serve approximately 25 hours/week.
