Job summary

Hitachi Energy Ltd. is seeking an HSE Technician to support the implementation and maintenance of Health, Safety, and Environmental programs at the Atkins facility during weekend 2nd shifts. You will help ensure compliance with regulations and company policies.

Responsibilities include inspections, incident investigations, HSE training delivery, documentation, emergency response support, equipment calibration, and fostering a positive safety culture across site teams.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field preferred.
• 1-3 years of experience in a Health, Safety, and Environmental role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Knowledge of relevant HSE regulations and standards (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
• Strong observational and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team on weekend 2nd shifts.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• First Aid/CPR/AED certification preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.

• Collaborate with site management and employees to promote a positive safety culture.
• Provide support for environmental compliance activities, including waste management and spill prevention.
• Ensure all work is performed in accordance with Hitachi's safety standards and procedures.
• Communicate effectively with all levels of staff regarding HSE matters.
