Job summary

Fluor Corporation seeks a health, safety and environment lead to work on medium to large-scale TIC projects. You will apply regulatory requirements, develop and review HSE documentation, and ensure compliance with government and client regulations.

Qualifications

  • Accredited four-year degree or global equivalent with six years of related experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences including management, clients, vendors.
  • Technical knowledge to complete HSE-related tasks and stay compliant with regulations.
  • Willingness to learn local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines.
  • Attention to detail and time-conscious work habits.

Responsibilities

  • Work on HSE activities on medium to large-scale TIC projects, including certification programs and documentation.
  • Apply regulatory requirements and monitor HSE standards and regulations.
  • Plan, perform and document work involving EIA, QRA, PHA, FPS, and related analyses for regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain knowledge of Fluor's HSE standards and participate in training.
  • Promote Fluor HSE standards across the company and project.
  • Adhere to Fluor's Health, Safety & Environmental and Sustainability Policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Description
  • Work on projects of broad and diverse scope HSE activities on medium to large-scale Total Installed Cost (TIC) projects; duties may include preparation of certification/classification programs, the preparation of the supporting HSE documents and implementation of project specific HSE initiatives
  • Apply regulatory requirements to provide guidance to project management; assist in monitoring and controlling HSE standards, applicable laws and regulations; and design and review a project plan or schematic to confirm compliance with all governmental regulations and Company/client requirements
  • Plan, perform and document work requiring independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation/modification of diverse and complex techniques, procedures and criteria, for example, Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), coordination and execution of Safety Cases (SC) and support studies, Quantitative Risk Assessments (QRA), Process Hazard Analyses (PHA), Fire Protection Specifications (FPS), Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and perform analysis of regulations against diverse and complex project needs so that design will comply with regulations
  • Maintain and apply a comprehensive knowledge of the Company’s HSE standards, programs and goals by applying HSE procedures as established by the Company on a project site or in an office through departmental training, Fluor University training and the use of knowledge management portals and communities
  • Promote and foster Company HSE standards and goals with programs throughout the Company and/or project to confirm a safe and productive work environment
  • Adhere to and support Fluor's Health, Safety & Environmental and Sustainability Policies
  • Other duties as assigned
Basic Job Requirements
  • Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and six (6) years of work‑related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to ten (10) years if non‑degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
  • Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
  • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
  • Ability to attend to detail and work in a time‑conscious and time‑effective manner
Other Job Requirements
  • Must be able to provide proof of US citizenship
  • Nuclear construction required
  • DOE/NNSA Experienc highly preferred
  • Supervise and train subordinates assigned to her/his area
  • Serve as a Company representative to external HSE organizations
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced computer and software skills to include the use of word processing and email as well as the intermediate use of spreadsheets and electronic presentations
  • High critical thinking/reasoning ability
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • A valid driver’s license, if required

Market Rate Statement: The market rate for the role is typically at the mid-point of the salary range; however, variations in final salary are determined by additional factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
