Job summary

The role conducts field audits, coaching, onboarding, and participates in continuous improvement across operations and projects. Responsibilities include safety and quality assurance inspections, incident investigations, and providing bilingual support for safety communications and training.

Qualifications

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) with strong verbal and written communication.
  • Experience in utility construction, natural gas distribution, pipeline construction, safety, or quality assurance.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and quality management principles.
  • Experience conducting field audits, inspections, investigations, and coaching.
  • Experience supporting onboarding, training, mentoring, or workforce development.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine field safety audits and inspections to verify compliance with policies, OSHA regulations, and customer requirements.
  • Coach employees and supervisors on hazard recognition, job planning, and safe work execution.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and safety concerns; identify root causes and assist with corrective actions.
  • Perform quality assurance inspections and audits; document findings and track corrective actions.
  • Coordinate new hire onboarding and training; serve as bilingual safety resource for communications and onboarding.

Job Overview:The HSE & Quality Specialist is responsible for supporting PDS operations by promoting a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with company, customer, and regulatory requirements, and improving the quality of construction activities. This position serves as a field resource for safety, quality assurance, new hire onboarding, employee development, and bilingual communication while working closely with operations, supervisors, and customers to continuously improve performance.This position will spend approximately 60–80% of the time in the field conducting audits, coaching employees, supporting new employee integration, and verifying compliance with company and customer standards.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesHSE ComplianceConduct routine field safety audits and inspections to verify compliance with company policies, OSHA regulations, customer requirements, and safe work practices.Coach employees and supervisors on hazard recognition, job planning, and safe work execution.Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and safety concerns, identify root causes, and assist with corrective actions.Monitor compliance with PPE requirements, traffic control, excavation safety, utility locating, equipment inspections, and other critical work practices.Assist with safety meetings, toolbox talks, stand-downs, and safety initiatives.Quality Assurance & CompliancePerform quality assurance inspections and audits on construction activities, work processes, and project documentation.Verify compliance with company standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements.Identify workflow deficiencies and recommend process improvements.Document quality assurance activities and prepare inspection and audit reports.Track corrective actions and verify completion.Review trends and communicate findings to management to improve overall project quality.Support subcontractor quality oversight and documentation reviews.New Hire Onboarding & TrainingCoordinate and support new employee onboarding activities for field personnel.Conduct new hire orientation and ensure employees understand company safety policies, customer requirements, quality expectations, and field procedures.Assist with mentoring, coaching, and ongoing employee development.Serve as a bilingual resource for English- and Spanish-speaking employees by assisting with safety communications, training, coaching, onboarding, and field support.Translate or assist in communicating company safety expectations, procedures, and customer requirements to ensure all employees fully understand work expectations and safety requirements.Required QualificationsBilingual (English and Spanish), with the ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with field employees, supervisors, customers, contractors, and leadership.Experience in utility construction, natural gas distribution, pipeline construction, safety, quality assurance, or a related field.Knowledge of OSHA regulations, utility construction practices, and quality management principles.Experience conducting field audits, inspections, investigations, and employee coaching.Experience supporting employee onboarding, training, mentoring, or workforce development.Strong organizational, time management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with operations and leadership.Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).Experience using electronic inspection, audit, quality, or safety management systems is preferred.Preferred QualificationsAssociate's or Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, Quality Management, or a related field.CHST, OHST, CSP, CUSP, or other applicable safety certification preferred.Previous experience in utility construction and natural gas distribution is preferred.Key CompetenciesSafety LeadershipQuality Assurance & Quality ControlEmployee Coaching & DevelopmentNew Hire OnboardingBilingual Communication (English/Spanish)Root Cause AnalysisRegulatory ComplianceCustomer RelationsOrganization & Time ManagementProblem SolvingContinuous ImprovementPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift up to 50 pounds.Frequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, and working on uneven terrain.Ability to travel throughout Georgia and surrounding areas as required.Ability to work outdoors in variety of weather conditions.#LI-AB1Company Overview:Primoris Gas Operations, which consist of companies such as Q3 Contracting, ARB, Primoris Distribution Services, Snelson and Pipejacking Trenchless, has over 60 years of experience working in the natural gas distribution industry.
