Westlake is seeking a Safety professional to support implementation of safety initiatives across plant sites in North Carolina. The role involves training, auditing, coaching and technical support to maintain a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with regulations.
The position requires a BS in a related field and 1+ year of experience, with strong communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Travel and on-site plant work are expected as part of standard responsibilities.
Summary
The position is responsible for assisting in the implementation of safety initiatives to prevent injuries, incidents and protect employee safety, health and Company assets by providing training, coaching, auditing and technical support to the facilities assigned to them.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk. The employee is frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk or hear, and smell. The employee is occasionally required to sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
The employee must be able to work in the plant environments where noise, dust, material handling equipment, and machinery will be present. Employee must be able to climb ladders and will be required to wear the appropriate personal protective equipment applicable for the tasks they will be asked to perform.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Employee may be required to travel less than 5% of the time.
