Job summary

West Pharmaceutical Services in Indiana is expanding its cutting-edge manufacturing facility and seeks a proactive HSE professional to support Health, Safety and Environmental compliance across the site. You will work under the HSE supervisor and independently to help meet safety objectives.

You will develop safety programs, conduct audits, lead risk assessments, educate employees, and assist with waste management and contractor safety.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Environment, Health, Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or science related field.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in the HSE field.
• Knowledge of local and country HSE related regulations.

Responsibilities

• Develop health and safety systems, programs and procedures to prevent injuries and illnesses, and enhance the overall site safety culture resulting in management engagement, employee involvement and the reduction in unsafe conditions and behaviors.
• Participate on incident investigations to guide on finding root causes and identifying aligned long-term corrective actions.
• Perform facility audits, surveys and inspections to identify environmental, safety and occupational hazards and weaknesses, to promote effective practices and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and develop recommendations that provide solutions, remedies or process improvement.
• Reviews and approves risk assessments such as: Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), ergonomic, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), new chemicals, and equipment assessments.
• Support all chemical and hazardous waste management, including transportation and documentation.
• Educate employees on how to prevent health problems using safety training programs and communications.
• Support on the monitoring of contractor activities to ensure compliance with West Safety Policies.
• Participate on projects for new equipment or improvement as safety representative.
• Other duties as assigned

Job Summary

In this role, you will perform activities related to Health, Safety, Environmental (HSE) compliance to support the site, location or business needs. Receives technical and strategic oversight and direction from HSE supervisor or manager for the site, location or business but also has enough experience to work unsupervised to accomplish goals and objectives.

Education

• BS Degree in Environment, Health, Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or science related field.

Work Experience

• 3 to 5 years of experience in the HSE field
• Must have knowledge of local and country HSE related regulations
• Manufacturing industry experience, preferred

Physical Requirements

Sedentary-Exerting up to 10lbs/4kgs of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
