Job summary

Primoris Services Corporation seeks an HSE Specialist to oversee health, safety, and environmental compliance across projects. You will develop programs, lead trainings, and manage records to promote a strong safety culture.

Responsibilities include site inspections, incident investigations, and collaboration with project teams to integrate HSE into planning and execution. OSHA/EPA knowledge and certifications are highly valued.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in an HSE role, preferably within construction, utilities, or heavy industrial sectors.
  • OSHA 30-hour Construction certification preferred; additional certifications (e.g., CSP, CHST, ASP) are a plus.
  • CPR certified and instructor preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of federal, state, and local HSE regulations (OSHA, EPA).
  • Proven ability to conduct effective safety training and presentations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to travel to various job sites as needed.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, determining root causes and recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Provide HSE training to employees and contractors on various topics, including hazard communication, confined space entry, fall protection, and emergency preparedness.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date HSE records, including training logs, inspection reports, and incident documentation.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of emergency response plans.
  • Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to integrate HSE considerations into project planning and execution.
  • Stay informed of new HSE regulations, best practices, and technologies, and recommend updates to company policies and procedures.
  • Participate in safety meetings and committees, promoting a proactive safety culture.
  • Prepare and submit required HSE reports to regulatory agencies.
