Job summary

Bayer is seeking an HSE internship at its Kansas City site to collaborate with an experienced safety, health, and environment team. The role provides real-world exposure to HSE work, mentorship, and opportunities to contribute to meaningful safety and compliance initiatives within the organization.

You will assist in safety improvements, risk assessments, and regulatory research while coordinating with cross-functional teams and supporting documentation and reporting efforts.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in bachelor’s or master’s degree in safety-related field with minimum GPA 3.0.
• Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Able to commute daily to Kansas City, MO site for May–Aug 2027 internship.
• Willing to work in a dynamic chemical plant environment and climb stairs/ladders.

Responsibilities

• Assist HSE professionals to enhance workplace safety and environmental practices.
• Participate in risk assessments and safety audits to identify hazards.
• Conduct regulatory research and ensure compliance initiatives align with laws.
• Collaborate across departments to promote safety awareness and environmental responsibility.
• Help prepare HSE documentation, reports, and compliance records.
• Support site-wide OE and safety improvement initiatives.
