Superior Construction Company Southeast, LLC invites a summer intern to join our Health, Safety and Environment team on heavy civil and highway projects.
You will assist with implementing the HSE Plan, conduct weekly site inspections, help with worker orientations and risk analyses, support training, monitor PPE usage, and assist in reporting incidents. This part-time internship emphasizes safety, hands-on learning, and professional development in a fast-paced construction environment.
This is a summer internship position ONLY for 2027.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Employee will be working on heavy civil and highway construction sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. The position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Time in the field is essential and will make up 80% of the intern’s time with the other 20% spent in the office performing computer work along with assisting with training.
This is a part-time nonexempt position.
The role requires less than 5% travel. May be opportunities to visit other projects and locations, dependent upon availability and need.
Working towards a bachelor’s degree in Health and Safety or similar.
Knowledge of Health and Safety Regulations (construction preferred but not required). Strong oral and written communication skills.
Must possess or be able to obtain a valid and appropriate state driver’s license before employment. Must have reliable transportation to and from the project office or site.
