Qualifications

  • Requires BA degree in environmental, mechanical, chemical, electrical, civil, agriculture, or bio systems.
  • Years of experience in environmental/safety compliance or similar role.
  • Experience in industry, energy or manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains communication, presentation and interpersonal skills to help Operations and other groups implement environmental and safety programs while ensuring compliance.
  • Develops and maintains recordkeeping systems to demonstrate compliance with permits/regulations/programs.
  • Monitors and analyzes environmental data to ensure compliance, including auditing and sampling; uses data to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Coordinates and manages testing of control equipment, including tests protocols and work plans.
  • Manages/supports capital projects as they relate to HSE.
  • Assists site personnel with implementation and ongoing compliance of site and corporate safety policies.
  • Maintains and updates site plans such as ERAP, FRP, SPCC and RMP as needed.
  • Develops and delivers safety training and materials for site personnel; may deliver training directly.
  • Supports Turnaround planning and execution.

Education

BA degree in Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Civil, Agriculture, or Bio Systems

The Health, Safety, and Environmental Engineer will ensure ongoing compliance with environmental and safety regulations by meeting all control, monitoring, recordkeeping, and reporting requirements within their area of responsibility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develops and maintains good communication, presentation and interpersonal skills that help Operations and other functional groups implement environmental and safety programs achieving operational flexibility while ensuring ongoing compliance.
  • Develops and maintains recordkeeping systems to sustainably demonstrate compliance with assigned environmental permits/regulations/programs.
  • Monitors and analyzes environmental operational data to ensure compliance which includes auditing and sampling. Uses information to identify opportunities to improve performance.
  • Coordinates and manages engineering and compliance testing of control equipment, including preparing tests protocols and work plans.
  • Manages/Supports capital projects as they relate to HSE.
  • Assists site personnel with the implementation and ongoing compliance of site and corporate safety policies.
  • Maintains and oversees updates as need to site plans such as Emergency Action Plan (ERAP), Facility Response Plan (FRP), Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures (SPCC) and Risk Management Plan (RMP).
  • Develops and delivers training to the site for safety issues. Develops training materials pertaining to safety issues as required by the site. Provides the training materials to the parties responsible for delivering site training or may deliver the training directly to the site employees.
  • Supports Turnaround planning and execution.
Requirements & Qualifications:
  • BA degree in Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Civil, Agriculture, or Bio Systems.
  • Years of experience in environmental/safety compliance or similar role required.
  • Experience in the area of industry, energy or manufacturing required.
  • Able and willing to work on-site and in-person, required.
