Danville Community School District is seeking a HS Baseball Assistant Coach to work closely with the Head Coach, supporting development and success of the high school program. You will help organize practices, implement coaching strategies, and provide value to the coaching staff.

The role emphasizes leadership, mentorship of student-athletes, and contributions to team culture. Summer position with responsibilities across training, game-day support, and recruitment.

Qualifications

• Valid Iowa Coaching License required.
• High school level coaching experience preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of baseball and coaching techniques.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to motivate and foster sportsmanship.

Responsibilities

• Train and develop players; assist in planning and conducting practices.
• Provide skill instruction for individuals and positions; align training with team goals.
• Assist with game-day preparations, warm-ups, equipment, and substitutions.
• Offer constructive feedback to players during and after games.
• Mentor student-athletes; promote academics, sportsmanship, and character.
• Assist in recruiting and retaining student-athletes for the program.
• Support administrative tasks, including events, travel and communications.
• Collaborate with Head Coach and staff; attend meetings on team strategy.
